I'll repeat this, Freo were going to swap 17 + something to West Coast for pick 15.

So they would've been before us.

Our pick 45 was better than Freo's offer.

Only makes some sort of sense if we were only ever going to use 3 picks and 50 which became 45 was for a better trade than we got with WCE but it never eventuated.

Our next pick 90 or whatever it is will probably come right in to around 60 with clubs filling their list and passing.

Yeah, and that player is another flanker. There are better players on the board.

It’s the same BS every year: Hinkley is safe again, a flanker in the first round, and a choke in the finals. Nothing changes at Port.

I think they are hoping Benny doesn’t get bid on take him as category b rookie not use the 4th pick and keep a spare pick for 1 of the players playing for our sanfl team like McLennan

Hopefully positioning our last pick at 93 instead of 45, pays off in terms of scaring teams away from picking Benny

People also should remember- trading our 4th pick really just pushed our last pick back, really. This increases our chances of matching a bid for Benny Barrett. We will have a list spot open to very late in the piece now. Previously we couldn’t match a bid between 50 and the end of the draft as we had no list spots left. Now we can.

This actually removes the incentive of anyone bidding on Benny also increasing the chances of getting him for “free” as a cat B rookie.

That hasn't been announced. We had 4 main list spots, with the last at 45, I would suspect we would use pick 45, rather than an extra deep rookie pick

Port could very well draft Shanahan tomorrow and that would be a great get. Just hope the tigers, swans, eagles and saints pass him up. Can't see the dogs drafting another tall considering their tall stocks.

Having said that the Whitlocks were invited to attend the draft and did not end up getting drafted in the 1st round. Must be awks for any player to be invited to draft night and not get drafted in the 1st round.

Bo Allan? Harry Armstrong? Murphy Reid?

Literally all of them were rated higher by everyone than Joe Berry.

Look at the premiers this year, they have solid body types all over the ground.
Even old Zorko looks buff.

Surely you see us getting bent over at the trade period and draft. At some point you will have to question why it happens to us, and why other clubs keep benefiting off it and win flags, while we continue to extend our 21 year premiership drought.

Whose bent us over and won flags?
From 2018 Hawthorn haven't done anything. North haven't done anything.
And out trade up to get to Rozee's pick 5 was Freo to get to six. And they haven't done anything, and then Brisbane almost let us swap 6 for pick 5 at no cost.
2019 we traded a future first Brisbane for the pick that became Georgiades.

That future first ended up in the COVID draft as well.

We traded up for Sinn, that was also with West Coast.
