So you'd prefer they were angry at the club one day and just stayed angry forever? Wouldnt that mean that we'd all just be constantly outraged and lose the ability to look at anything objectively?Forgive me if I can't take you remotely seriously because you get angry at the club one day, then seem to forget it the next and Port knows best. No conviction.
Consistency & stability is everythingWe are at least consistently shit this off season when it comes to all trading and drafting at this point.
If somehow Shanahan got to 33 and then James Barratt or Clancy Dennis at 38 it would be nice. But I think we'll go with 2 of Jack Ough,Christian Moraes, Tom Sims or Jack Whitlock2x KPPs with our next picks please. Next a KPD as one of those.

Probably Moraes (who tbf in top 10 contention this time last year according to many) and James Barratt or Clancy Dennis for KPD would be my first two choice followed by Noah Mraz. For the people that know the draft crop well. If I'm drafting a winger and KPD with 33 and 38. Who are the 2 best options?
Then we need to re-draft Pittard, Bonner and we're already promoting McEntee so that completes the holy trinity. We will pick who ever can secure hinkley a contract quickest , thinking we would draft players ready in 2 to 4 years was always fanciful
I mean if you're happy with failing for 13 years and trading out Dan Houston and pick 45 for a bloke we probably 1. Might not have such a list hole for if we'd managed the list better with team selection, and 2. Might have been able to get with the pick we burned on Esava if we hadnt overpaid to fix our last self created list hole... that says more about you than my postAlmost as stupid as this comment
Ridiculous take. Greene, Pickett, Watson, Weightman, Daniels all first round picks. There are small forwards taken late, but there’s also KPFs, mids, rucks etc taken late too.
As for Gerreyn, if we pick him it will be in the mid 30s, well and truly mid-range pick territory where you start taking a punt on players
I’d pay a late first round pick for Daniels and maybe Weightman. Daniels is a vital part of GWS at their best.lol. Do you can name 5 small forwards out of how many ? How many have failed?
Also you’re taking the piss. Who would wanna pay a first rounder for Daniels or weightman today??
I’m not wrong. Drafting Small forwards early has a very high failure rate.
Meanwhile we stuff around doing well in H&A and then bomb out embarrassingly in finals again & again. Tiges got kissed on the a*se with the trades they did & we got predictably screwed with the Houston trade.Win 3 flags in 4 years, bottom out 4 years later and trade out players whilst those premiership players have currency and get 8 picks in top 25, 4 in the top 11 before matching bids, in one draft.
That's how you quickly transition from a super successful era to the next generation.
Cotchin, Dusty, Rance, Riewoldt, Edwards were all top 11 or top 30 picks and they won their first flag 8 to 10 years after being drafted and came from drafts over 3 years. Their next one might not take as long.
Yep, its coming. Can't wait.We have enough small forwards only problem is apart from Rioli and sometimes DBJ the rest are shit.
Instead of getting rid of some of them we keep them even moving Jed onto the main list.
We somehow end up with another small forward with the Dan deal and then trade up to get another small forward.
A couple of undernourished half back flankers would just top it off nicely tomorrow night.
Spot on.To be clear this isnt a knock on Joe Berry either. I barely know the kid. Hope he kicks 100 a season, and the "two Joes" become superstars in a premiership side for us. Im behind him as a player 100%.
Its the fact that we seem to constantly be looking for the missing piece, needing to fill the latest list hole, and get taken advantage of again and again in our desperation. Here we obviously felt compelled to go best small forward rather than best available, and end up overpaying again. Its poor planning and lack of accountability at the top that has impacts on every other area of the club.
We have two picks in the second round tonight, currently with the 6th and 11th selection in order of how the picks will flow. We lost our third round pick in the Joe Berry shoe-shuffle with West Coast. I think we stay with what we have and take two very good players with those picks. We then wait to use “pick 94” to match the Benny Barrett bid if it comes or, if it doesn’t take whichever player is left at the very end of the draft that we like before tomorrow’s rookie draft. Barrett can then be selected onto our category B rookie list as a bonus.Any chance we can trade back into the 2nd round tonight? Or we can’t since we traded out our future 1st?
But wait until you see what we do with our choicesMoraes if he lasts would be most likely to cover wing outside mid?
I like him.
Key Defender Mraz. Would be wrapped with.
Shanahan and Whitlock it's ridiculous that they are there.
Then there's Gerreyn and Dodson.
We are spoilt for choice.

Yup.So you'd prefer they were angry at the club one day and just stayed angry forever? Wouldnt that mean that we'd all just be constantly outraged and lose the ability to look at anything objectively?

Its just compounding bad shit with this club. Will never achieve anything til we have a cleanout.
