Starts today. If I were in Melbourne and free I would so be there.

Lets go Eva Lys and Erika Andreeva mainly! Interest also in Korneeva, B.Fruhvirtova and P.Kudermetova.

Schwartzman and Kudla in a QR1 is crazy. Goffin 8th seed. Paire in action too.

Rain going to delay play till much later today bu should be okay for the rest of the week.

Will probably go Wednesday & Thursday most likely.

Erika Andreeva made a great start up 5-1. Let’s go! Should be way too consistent.

Should be the last slam She needs to qualify but more matches the better for her as she’s learning

She wins 6-1, 6-2 and now likely faces Kudermetova junior who is only a couple game away. Tough match for both, would’ve been nice to see both qualify.
Nice draw for her really should be beating mini Kuder

Lys 6-1, 6-2 in 65 minutes. One to go!!

Meanwhile Kudermetova junior beat Erika comfortably. Not overly surprised Polina was on fire yesterday, and Erika can be exposed by big hitters.

probably exactly the loss Erica needs, she can get lazy in her footwork, she's young for goodness sakes this happens. Also felt she was second guessing her shots all match and not timing it. Needs work on her serve placement too, it's too safe and middle box, high percentage yes but you need free points you are not winning against your Rybankina types hitting middle box.

Iga v Kenin in the first round.
Osaka v Gacia as well.
Rybakina v Pliskova.

some really really good match-ups. Who says the first week is predictable.

Of course Rybakina draws the hardest non seed and the others get cakewalks
