Looks pretty good. There seems to be universal agreement on the forward 6.

Basically what you have is what I expect OP

My hope though is that by year's end, Allan, Macrae and Dean have made their way into the side. I'd like to see some kids force their way in for the betterment of our ability to stay up long term

Finally a side with Cox where he should be, No 1 ruck

Fin Macrae and Ed Allan just have to force themselves be picked Rd 1 and get on with their great careers.
Has to be 1 or 2 unavailable Rd 1 or WHE out and Markov out. Possibly even Allan squeeze out Sidey. This would ensure our future is a dynasty.

Then on come Ryan, Harrison, Jiath and Demattia. Krueger is my wild card to be a surprise gun for next 5 years.

Ed Allan needs to do nothing of the sort. He's contracted until 2026, he has time.

Didn't last long 10 posts in and Cox on the bench

There is strong talk the sub will be scratched, and it'll just be a 5th interchange player.
Also, wouldn't be shocked if Dean can force his way into that back 6, would be better to have a lockdown defender, and Murphy/Howe can just play their natural games.

I thought Dean was more of an interceptor than a lock down defender?

Remember when in November 2022, everyone was able to accurately predict the SSP signings of Oscar Steene and Oleg Markov? Yeah, me neither.

Seems a little ridiculous to write these down, even in pencil, now. A lot of water to go under the bridge between now and then.

I’d love Johnson to push his way into the team as four small forwards might be too many although it would mean someone missing out or a positional change for one of those small forwards. May be another year before we see any major changes. The fact that we seem to have a weekly injury will provide some room for experimenting and opportunities for those in the twos.

We need the kids to be pushing through this pre-season. Fin. Reef. Dean. Even Ryan and Allan. But more so the first two, big years for them. Fin needs an injury free pre-season so he can breakdown the door in those pre-season games.

I think the key point is the transition to the newer group....when and who. You would think that Finn has almost been promised a game early on. Johnson needs to show something to warrant trust if we go into another finals campaign. Allan probably needs to get a game or he might start to get toey. Some of the old boys need to take rests during the season. The whole process is going to be tricky if we're contending...

This is Finn's opportunity. All year we've heard McCrae tell us he was in Finn's ear, that his chance was coming.
Mitchell took Adams spot as primary inside mid, Schultz took Adams pressure fwd spot. Finn to become secondary inside mid.
The 5 th bench player would work in his favour. I reckon Frampton as the 5th player also, more so for his flexability.
Same with WHE. can play on all 3 lines.

Rest either Pendles or Sidey or both against Eagles and Roo's
