Pick 41 - Sydney - Luke Urquhart
Pick 41 Luke Urquhart 184cm Midfielder

I am a East Fremantle homer, so this may be a case of rating a player a little higher than he should be rated. Would be one of the stronger players in the draft class. (This is who I would have taken instead of Ben Camp for Carlton). Has top end speed mixed in with a solid body and amazing clearance player. He has 50m+ kicking ability and did not look outclassed against top ten picks in the carnival.
While his long kicking looks good, his ability to hit targets is a slight concern, along with his durability. He reminds me a little of Warner, the Swans have had very good contacts in WA and this kid will hopefully be on their radar. I remember Warner was an explosive player that lacked polish by boot as well.
When you're picking a player in the 40's, you're hoping for a few AFL attributes and hopefully the weaknesses will be solved.
He will need to work on kicking and endurance to a certain extent.

A lot to like but also think Luke has a very broad draft range. A team pulling the trigger in the 30s wouldn’t surprise but neither would him getting through to the 4R. Looked really good in stages at the champs, particularly early in the U18 clash vs vic country but then faded. Definitely needs to address his disposal but can find the footy and exit the contest. Bit harsh on the endurance, ran a 6:25 2km (top 10) after a hip osteotomy!

A few games I watched, he started amazing and then died in the second half a little.

Geelong go local here with a kid who has a lot of AFL traits and I am thrilled that he is available with this pick.

Mr Consistent and reads the game well, plays a lot taller than his 184 cm, his intercept over head marking is a real feature of his skill set, can run and carry when needed and generally makes good decisions.
The kid has some dash and a high footy IQ.

He really emerged as a good player as the season unfolded, featured in the Falcons best in most games, made the AA under 18 team and the CTL team of the year.

Joint Co-Captain at Falcons

Cats fans should be happy with this pick.

Pick 43 - Essendon - Lennox Hofman
Pick 43 - Essendon - Lennox Hofmann
190cm - Medium Defender

Essendon has a history of bidding on later NGA/FS picks, not a good history but one none the less. Hofmann imo is exactly the type of player that Essendon is missing on its list now that Kelly has retired but even if he hadn’t I feel Hofmann was still an area of need.

Hofmann is an athletic player able to play on tall, medium and smalls and he has done some solid jobs on some
very good players most recently shutting down Cooper Hynes completely.

Hofmann is strong overhead and a measured ball user who should be a great understudy for Ridley who is really the only other player on the Essendon list who can play tall and small.

Pick 44 - St Kilda - Kayle Gerreyn
eDPS he’s all yours.

Pick 44 - St Kilda
Kayle Gerreyn
West Perth / Western Australia

The plan was originally to go small here but I really like Gerreyn and couldn't pass. Whilst his size and strength suggest he's not far off competing at AFL level, I think his endurance will be a barrier through the first few years of his career. If he can improve in that regard, I find it hard to believe he can't have a career at the next level.

Others considered: Josh Dolan

Pick 46 - Port Adelaide - Noah Mraz
Surprised he and Mraz are still here.

eDPS
Well about that….

Pick 46 - Port Adelaide - Noah Mraz
198cm - Key Defender/Utility

I’ve had a strategy so far for Port Adelaide to target more midfield depth and really wanted to go another midfielder aswell but there wasn’t any I was willing to take here when a potential genuine AA calibre tall was still on the board with Noah Mraz.

Mraz has had a very interrupted season which has held him from being a potential late first/early second round selection. Mraz is a competitive and mobile tall who crashes packs and plays with intent not unlike Darcy Moore. His endurance and strong leap would also lend him well to play a potential key forward/pinch hit ruck role aswell.

Pick 47 - Gold Coast Suns - Archer Day-Wicks
Pick 47. Gold Coast :goldcoast: - Archer Day-Wicks - 186 cm - Midfielder/Forward - Bendigo.

Reviewing A D-W is not an easy task, as there are times when he is a bit of an enigma.
When he is on song, he looks quite a player, what I would like to see from him, is him staying more in the contest for longer, because there is no questioning his raw talent and ability, I just want to see it more consistently.

He has very good skills and has a very a effective left foot on him and his ability to play taller than his 186cm makes his a difficult match up. Kid has some tricks and can be very elusive and hard to contain when the ball hits the ground, he is an opportunist.

If he can find some consistency to his game he will be a steal at the point in the draft, if he cant he probably doesn't make it.

He has all the tricks, he just needs to learn to put them together on a regular basis.

Pick 48 - Collingwood - Charlie Nicholls (Central District/South Australia)

Like him as a developing tall option, showed signs in all the key roles so happy to spec.

Pick 49 & 50 - Essendon - Sam Davidson & Charlie West
Pick 49 - Essendon - Sam Davidson
191cm/Medium Forward

Essendon were close to taking him in the MSD but won’t pass on him this time. Winner of the best young player in the VFL which has been almost a free pass into AFL with the amount of players who have won it to go on and get drafted.

Davidson is exactly the type of player Essendon need as a hard running and athletic medium forward with the potential for versatility aswell. Davidson is strong overhead and nimble at ground level with his speed and running capacity a great mix for the role he plays.

Pick 50 - Essendon - Charlie West
194cm/Key Forward

West is a real goer and despite delisting a similar sort of player in Pat Voss last year I feel West has a bit more potential. West is competitive in the air and surprisingly clean and nimble at ground level with a pretty decent football brain to boot.

Essendon need a more competitive player inside 50 which Jones and Wright really aren’t and West fits the bill here.

Speaking of PMBangers I'll place a bid on Logan Smith. Let me know :)
I knew it'd be you, matched

Logan Smith | RUCK
202 cm

Essentially a less built Nick Madden at this stage, but with Preuss gone and Keefe getting on we're due a ruck to come onto the list. I do like Smith's follow up work immediately from stoppage as a bit of POD to your standard U18s ruck, so that's nice

I did also consider passing given I had the next pick and Burmeister would've been a guarantee for me, but I've essentially taken Whitlock earlier for the same role I'd put Burmeister in

Yeah blame PMBangers who updated to #39, then this most recent page went from #41 onwards. The absolute shocking luck of the player being taken at #40 haha
Sorry, was busy carrying the country on my back (worked the day prior to cup day)

Pick 42 - Geelong :geelong: - Lachie Jaques - 184 cm - Defender - Geelong Falcons.
