Welcome to the club Cooper Hynes and pick 28 .. can’t wait how did we mess up potentially pick 4 and 5 in an elite draft far out. The pressure is on if we don’t play like this next year.

Bo Allan is another name we havent heard anything of since the championships. I imagine the club have been keeping tabs on him. He has been playing in the back pocket for Claremont WAFL and averaging 11 disposals a game. I dont know enough on his midfield craft but he had a good championships playing in there.

Then obviously Taj Hotton will also be available so there will still be options.

Firstly, cracking win over the Blues. I barracked for the Saints this afternoon as if they were my own team. That was brilliant!

Secondly apologies for intruding but I’ve heard the Saints love Tobie Travaglia.

I like the assortment of talent the Saints are building. NWM, Pou & Wilson are a terrific trio. I think Travaglia would be another fantastic get for you lot. Built for the modern game like Wilson is as a hard runner. I see him as a Will Day clone in the AFL.

Ross does love a runner. He’s a jet.

he looks good!

Regarding Battle:

We dont need Hawks to pay more over the 6 years... What we need is them to slightly restructure to a front loaded 5+1 deal

So they could create a very soft trigger for a 6th year, e.g. 20 games over 5 years... then the only guaranteed wage is 5 years.

So the deal would be 5@900 with a trigger for 1@600. The average over 6 years is then 850 but it is only guaranteed for 5 years.. So the AFL will only count the 5@900 for calculating the compensation, because only 5 years is guaranteed.

Couldn’t agree more.

Has ‘Simon Daleympal’ written all over him.

A bolter with super competitiveness , athleticism and massive improved.

Reminds me a lot of the same trajectory that Ed Richards had.

Correct problem is hawthorn already have their guy. Why are they going to pay him more or rework that contract?

There's other pieces they need to work with here.

Would loose my shite in a good way if we ended up with Langford and Reid. We are still in a good spot
Was keen on Reid but was told he wasn't a top 5 prospect. Now we are 7 and maybe 8, Reid and Langford would be very good.

Maybe a slider like Smillie?

We don't have any way to motivate them to do that.

I love the way Allan plays. Really combative, moves really well for a big guy.

What’s his contested work like?

Pick 5, 6 last year were Nick Watson and Riley Sanders, hardly any world beaters, Tsatas and Humphrey in 2022. Even this year.. O’Sullivan might have some neat skills, Smith can accumulate, but they are not a lot better than Langford for example.. We just need to draft good young midfielders back our now elite environment, coaching / development to mould them into the gun mids we craved so long for. I would much rather this than North, Goldcoast.

As we've seen a number of times this season, Smillie came out in the opening quarter with a frenetic energy and seemed to be everywhere early on finding the footy at will. That energy at times caused him to turn the footy over due to rushed disposal or decision making, but he was overall a big part of Eastern surging out to a significant early lead. He drifted out the game somewhat in the second half, which has become a bit of a trend for him, but overall he still put together a very good game.
