Lets say Battle does leave and we finish in the bottom 4 with a compensation pick say picks 4 & 5. There seems to be a lot of love for Jagga Smith if we take him at #4 who else do we look at. Urquart from WA looked good today, Smillie as a big mid, Lalor as the more dynamic clearance player or a tall forward.

My guess is Lalor and Smith though I don’t see the AFL letting this scenario happen. If anything, our compo will go to Norf as punishment to Ross

I think the next coach who walked in after Lyon back then, was going have issues with a few sookie big heads who had the board around their little finger. Watters had some kind of player development system he was trying to put into place, but got white-anted out of the place. In his place we got plodder Richo for years- those guys really knew what they were doing.

The club's drafting has been an erratic mess for years anyway, and couple that with ordinary player development, no wonder we can't achieve great things, and dragging Lyon back is yet another move which will backfire.

That’s some serious re-writing of history there regarding Watters.

Watters and Neeld both hired the same year, both came from under Malthouse, both made a point of making themselves unpopular by shitting on their respective clubs from the get-go. We actually played ok under Watters but the Pelican was determined to destroy our list, then Richo, Trout and Seaford happened. Amazing stuff.

Lalor and Smith please.
Hynes with the next pick.

Didn't watch the game but noticed Cole led the match for intercept possessions and contested marks. Did he concede many goals if any? Statistically looks like a very promising performance

Kept his oppo goalless. I watch the game and thought he played really well. He has enough to work with. Confident we will take him. Great closing speed, questionable kicking though

Hard to see North taking another mid but Richmond and WC will both need one.

I reckon Smilie suits North. Can play as a forward mid and looks a huge talent.

I have a sneaky Richmond are locked into O’Sullivan.

They apparently love him.
Agree, I think Smillie goes to Norf and Finn to Tigers

If Battle leaves, really hope we finish below Adelaide so if Eagles take Jagga, we'll have Draper and Lalor available

Pity for them there doesn't seem to be any high end KPPs this year. It's what they need.

So say Richmond take him, North take a non-mid, WC take Jagga and Crows take the SA kid - is there anyone considered top end left for us?
