If Richmond value pick 24 more than pick 23, I'm sure North will settle for the higher pick.
In the context of how the draft is structured.

23 is the last pick of night 1 on this occasion.

You have 5 minutes to select.

24 occurs the next night. You can sleep on it. Regroup. Change plans. Do some more work on it etc.

It’s strategically a very valuable pick.

Thanks for sharing.

Midfield craft + disposal under pressure + ball winning are must for genuine mids..
Half the tall mids have terrible disposal under pressure.

But they can win the ball.

It will be an interesting dilemma

If the knock on Allan is his kicking in traffic then I wonder why we love him so much.

Could the plan be that he's a HB first, link up option?

He runs past Doogs at CHB for the handball, takes on the tackler, hands off to Nas, who stabs it to Sharman at HF.

Allan still running.

He gets the handball again, baulks the man on the mark, handball to Higgins alone in the square who snaps over his head and hits the post!

Sounds like a classic Saints player IMO

North have no leverage. They either take Tarau at 2 or they slide back and run the risk of Melbourne snapping him and taking unders for the privilege.

If Richmond and St Kilda are the only two suitors for pick 2, North aren't getting fair value.

I reckon it will end up being 6 and 24 for 2, but if Melbourne take their player at 5 it will be an all time fumble.

If North do this then Rawlings should be marched out the door and banished forever.

I reckon Melbourne might nab Tauru at pick 5.

Would Tigers reach for the lad at pick 2? Nobody has considered this.

Watch the footage.

He is exactly like what the talent manager described.

Height of Bont. Speed of Warner.

And the man who recruited both?

Our Dimple.

Whatever trade sends pick 6 to North is a win for us.

If north select a tall at pick 2 or 6, one of those midfielders slide!

It’s looking good for us.
If one of them select Tauru we select the slider mid @7.
If neither does, we have the option of Tauru and maybe still a slider or the first of the next mid picks.

We are really in a fantastic position.

I spoke to former St Kilda recruiting manager King_Steele who likens Bo Allan to a cross between Daniel Healy and Daniel Wulf.

What are people's opinions on Luke Urquhart as a late pick mid ala Chad Warner?

STRENGTHS:

  • Clearance work
  • Defensive pressure
  • Explosive speed
  • Leadership
  • Power
  • Scoreboard impact

While he can certainly add polish to his game, Urquhart has enough physical attributes to have an impact at the next level. He shapes as a later pick, though it would not surprise to see a club be enamoured by his strong inside game and form at state level to select him as a ‘bolter’ in the earlier rounds. There is plenty of competition for spots when it comes to midfielders in this year’s draft, but Urquhart projects similarly to Sydney star Chad Warner, who plays with similar power and hailed from the same club and school.
