A lot to give, but still rather that than 13. Could set up our midfield for the next decade if we get it right.
Urge to kill fading....fading.... then they pick Smillie with pick 9....RISING

Wait until we finish bottom 4 :$
Yup. Although nothing seems to motivate us to not be shit more than trading out an F1 (went from 9th to 4th after the Lever deal, and 17th to 9th in 2020 after trading up for Koz).

Here's hoping we can reach the lofty heights of 12th at least.

A lot to give, really? Think it’s a great result. We’ll get a gun with pick 9 who will probably play straight away, along with pick 5. Think everyone agrees we need some young top end talent and now we’ll get two stars. Top 10 of this draft is so strong

Agree that the draft is strong and I'm mostly OK with it as a result.

But it's also true that it's a lot to give: if we finish in the same position next year (certainly possible), it'll be Picks 5, 28 and 40 for Pick 9. So yes, it's a gamble.

Interesting to see who it is we have our eye on with the second pick, id genuinely rather another KPF like Armstrong or KPD like Trainor or a utility like Tauru more than Smillie. Ideally we somehow get two of: Smith, Langford, O'Sullivan, Reid, Lalor or Draper. Probably asking for a lot hoping for that.

Sounds like GWS are hanging onto him.
So their L.M is acting like Dodoro, over a player who has yet to debut 2 1/2 years after being drafted, even though he wants to come here.

Don't they have mids to replace with Cummings, Perryman and soon to be Peatling leaving?

Yeah, I don't necessarily mind this one if JT can nail the picks.

Trading a F1 is always a gamble given our current trajectory, but if the top 10 is strong then the payoff is a year of development in a gun kid impacts us earlier and maybe we aren't bottom of the barrel when Tassie joins the comp.

100% – a combo of any of those would be a good result. I'm more open to Armstrong if we grab a gun mid first. Draper and Tauru would be an excellent outcome though.

Think Trainor probably slides down a fair bit with all his concussion issues. Big risk (which is a shame for him)

Him and Reid unfortunately.

Isn't next year meant to be heavily compromised? I guess if we finish top 10 next year it probably looks OK, but any worse than that and it'll be awful.
