I don't agree with the May one but maybe it's pointing to the cliff being on the horizon.

It was quite damming they way they called Petty the worst player in the comp based on data.

Agree May is probably an anomaly and wouldn’t help when you’re at full back the way we’ve opened up.

Goodwin has always coached to the data. Always.

Now he’s taken on the feedback around us exerting energy for minimal reward and getting hurt in short bursts on the rebound. Also the past 2 finals series allowing people to suggest our game method didn’t work in finals (which I mostly disagree with).

He's trying to correct with a list that’s been built on stoppage and contest, and we just don’t have the list to do it.

It will be fascinating to see if they try to salvage the season by reverting to the old game style, or whether they continue pursuing a more balanced style where we can attack from the back half.

We’ve sort of snookered ourselves I reckon - spend 3 years reshaping the list to enable a more balanced plan, or all in for the next 3 seasons trying to pinch 1 more flag with the current crop and having to rebuild from scratch.

The Petty thing is a mess too. They should just drop him to find confidence at CHB for Casey for the next month, and when he comes back, throw TMac forward and hope for the best.

IMO - I would take him as your only option that is going to be available…. He is one of the best Forward/Rucks but he isn’t a vital part of a team. I would rather invest in an outside runner, which is what we would spend your pick…. And is also what you need too.

Lobb is shit and it's actually insane if we make the same mistake we've already made multiple times by trying to brute force our awful forward structure with yet another limited player on the basis that he's tall and available.

I didn’t talk up Hunter. I said buyer beware. There was a reason he was going cheap….

Lobb doesn’t have those issues but as you said, better to get a good forward line coach than Lobb.

Isn’t he realistically only valued at a salary cap dump? Future 3rd maybe. Will be his 4th club and he’s never really made it. Lacks the mongrel required IMO. Do not want.
