They should ban disposal numbers so you can't criticize people for low numbers.
Wins and losses handed out on predicted scores, cant have the players who choke in front of goal and cost their team feeling bad.

I honestly couldn't care less what a player weighs. You can pretty much tell by looking at them if they are in shape or not, or putting on bulk etc. It's a mute debate. Definitely driven by the AFLW though. But again, who cares what they weigh. People will be up in Arms about anything these days.

This is a bit, "who cares" for mine.

Can't remember the last time I looked up a players weight. Like my view on Brayshaw, a players fitness comes through in how they train and play.

Its something thats always been done. Why remove it now? Just more woke lunacy.

I just can't bring myself to care about something being removed when I never cared about it when it was there.

Today this, tomorrow gender not allowed to be named. 😅

Again like with all of this, be fine if that's where they stopped but it won't be. It'll be something else soon then something else.

Removing weights of athletes to protect their feelings is incredibly soft.

That's a fair point but if the weights were handled anything like the way heights are then they were wildly inaccurate anyway.

I may be wrong but I think the removal of the weight is initially stemming from the AFLW due to body shamming.

Which despite the outcry I honestly think is fine, the girls cop a lot of shit but I don't think they should be held to the same scrutiny as the men in that regard when most of them work day jobs out of season.

How can you body shame an athlete thought that's ridiculous. They want the money the men make and they want longer seasons and more games etc but also no scrutiny and standards please.

I don't think I've ever checked a players weight in my life, but it's not really the point.

The same way you body-shame anyone else? Extrapolate from size/shape that someone is shit/lazy/unprofessional/etc

I don't know of any AFLW players saying don't critique the league or work to lift standards (that's part of the argument for more pay and more games - players can spend more time on improving skills and get more experience), but ragging on players because of weight/shape isn't actually useful in improving the league.

His point was if you are a professional you wont be shamed coz you are in shape. I think the women and men are seperate things, if the girls dont want to have their weight public thats fine coz they are pretty much amateurs at the end of the day. Ridiculous that professional men's weight is treated the same.

I'm normally in favour of these well-being initiatives. Not this one, I don't know of any girls in high school who were body shamed because their weight in kilograms were public info. They were shamed because they didn't look like a movie star and people are assholes.

I don't see how removing weights will stop body shaming of players who don't appear to be in peak condition. Look at the flak Gus cops here after new training photos are released, doubt anyone looked up his weight beforehand.

Agree with the motive, not the execution.

I take Bluelegs point about the player’s weight like height likely being inaccurate as well as other context and nuance around the issue.

However, as a person who doesn’t mind nerding it up and looking at playing lists this move is kinda shit. If a player is 185cms and 95kgs that would tell me that they’re likely a powerful tank. If they’re 198cms and 77kgs as a KPF, they’re not ready. If they’re 191cms and 86kgs they’re more likely a tall flanker/midfielder than KPP.

Like Capt_Concussion posted, it just seems a bit of a silly move that doesn’t really benefit anyone.

Reckon in terms of a KPF it is Ben King or bust.

I kinda would like NOT to chase one, but I get that depends on what Petty is doing.
