AFL should have had a slightly later start time tonight. I reckon a 7.35pm start would have gotten a bigger crowd. I probably would have gone last minute if the start time was a little bit later but just watching on TV instead.

Are both prelims expected to be on Saturday?

Or will they let us do a Friday night prelim as we finished first and also did the Friday night qualifying final

For some reason I don't think they'll want a rested NM playing Hawthorn or Port Adelaide off a six-day break.

They were happy for us to play off a 6 day break even though we finished first

Yeah well Geelong played the PF off a 6-day break last year against Brisbane off a 14-day break, thus it's not impossible. On the other hand, they aren't making Fremantle play off a 6-day break this week. So they "can", but probably won't.

Putting the PF on Friday also means going head-to-head with the first day of the First Test in Perth (and a WBBL match, also covered by Seven)... Might be wiser to promote the footy in primetime and then put it on the more attendance-friendly Saturday.

We finish 1st and have to play our qf off a 6 day break, while our opponent has a 7 day one. Then we play in a prelim at 3pm on a 35+° day?

Why don’t they just push back the north game at least an hour to start at 4pm when it will be slightly cooler/more cloud cover
