Talk about making stuff up.

Nah you have recency bias. Most Eagles supporters were into blooding youth but reckoned they still had enough "stars" not over their prime and that it was COVID/injuries that had them hard done by. "If we just get Yeo back ect and have less injuries, we could contend for finals".... yeah nah. Turns out the list was just sh*t.

Wrong.

Go do some research.

It's called a prediction, not a wish list. You might as well go ahead and put Richmond 1st.

I've just got this feeling the big 4 vic clubs will all finish top 8 next season.

I could honestly see Richmond/Essendon finishing 6th-8th, Carlton 4th-8th, Collingwood 1st-4th.

I just think all 4 teams have the talent to make the 8 if the right circumstances arise. Could be a very interesting year for us all.

Wouldn't even surprise me if first week of finals we get Col v Carl, Ess v Rich.

That would be the AFLs dream. Only the Pies are dead set certs. I have the Blues as a distinct possibility.

Tiggers are in rebuild mode while an affable fixture and decent coaching saw the Dons arguably over achieve in 23. It would be something of a shock if either team made the Finals.

Not quite sure on the tigers in rebuild mode, There's still plenty of talent there that could carry them to a top 8 finish, it's definitely been done before.

Also think the bombers will naturally improve, plus the players they recruited certainly help them achieve top 8.

Blues, yeah i dont know, I'm sceptical saying they'll finish top 4, too many variables for me to be confident of a top 4 spot. I'll be happy to just make the 8.

Pies i think will definitely finish top 4.

I don't know, im not a professional list manager obviously, but i just don't think neither essendon nor richmonds lists are bottom 4, they do have the potential to make the 8.

Interesting a fall from grace for the Lions the team isn't even that old either

One side always has a pretty massive fall. I wouldn't have guessed Brisbane, but it has to be at least one, and it has to be pretty surprising (Melbourne is my pick).

I agree, it is far more likely that the arse falls out of St Kilda, Carlton, GWS or Port
Always hard to know (which is why it is unpredictable) but we do know it will be somebody in that top 5-6 who won't even make finals at all and will probably be bottom 5-6.

I just have a funny feeling that Melbourne might have bigger cultural issues than we are aware of and they are a prime candidate for a fall (even though I actually really like their list on paper).

I think it will be one of the tougher seasons to pick. On their day any of the top 16 teams from 2023 can beat each other, but the question is if they can consistently do it. I also expect North Melbourne and West Coast to improve, who were clearly a class below the other sides in 2023.

1. Melbourne
2. Carlton
3. Sydney
4. St Kilda

5. Collingwood
6. Adelaide
7. Gold Coast
8. Brisbane

9. Geelong
10. Richmond
11. Port Power
12. Hawthorn
13. Greater Western Sydney
14. North Melbourne
15. Essendon
16. West Coast
17. Footscray
18. Fremantle

Most Improved: St Kilda, Gold Coast

Set to Fall: Fremantle, Footscray

Coleman Medal: Max King (St Kilda)

Brownlow Medal: Nick Daicos (Collingwood)

Grand Final: Carlton v St Kilda

Premier: St Kilda
