Part 4 is looking at the Interchange:
INT: Interchange | Interchange | Interchange | Interchange | Tactical Sub

E: Emergency | Emergency | Emergency

Please vote for the four players you'd want to fill those positions. Voting ends Feb 29th.

Framework: We are pretending that everyone on the list is fit, uninjured and unsuspended, the only thing holding players back being age and inexperience. This isn't a Round O team either, just the Best 22 team against a random opponent in random weather conditions in a random round.

In the poll above is every player in the Melbourne squad that was not picked in the previous 3 threads. I know that Angus Brayshaw would have almost certainly been added to the bench prior to his latest scan but, since his retirement is effective immediately, he won't be in the poll.

Happy Voting! :smallfooty:

Okay, let's go over a few things. If you're a non-Dees supporter, you're probably wondering how McVee and Bowey have bumped Salem onto the bench. It's probably because you didn't watch many Dees games in 2023 because the line-up in defense would be of no surprise to frequent visitors to this board. However, even with Brayshaw's retirement, Salem almost became the sub early on in the vote which we'll get to later.

The midfield, for the 4th time running, has had 5 of the 6 players stay the same. I thought for sure both wings were gonna change but only Windsor could join Harmes, Brayshaw and Hunter in participating in the revolving door that is the Right-hand Wing Spot. I haven't seen any footage of Windsor play yet either so I hope we're not overhyping another rookie again. The forward-line was also quite predictable despite it being called "makeshift" by the experts. We don't even have to wait that long to see if the coaching staff go with something similar either and prove this thread correct! (they probably won't)

Which leaves us with the ins, the outs and the bench. I'm surprised Spargo didn't get in, but I guess with Windsor and Kynan in the squad now, we have his replacement for the title of "Best Kick in the Team". We almost had Kynan on the bench as well early days, however Salem was getting more consistent votes over time while Hunter came outta nowhere, stormed home late, and got the necessary votes to bump Kynan down to first Emergency. That'll most likely tick a few people off but hey, that's the votes. I also don't know where the Billings love has come from, though I suppose no news has been good news with this off-season.

And lastly, thank you for voting either once or in all 4 of the threads, these things run on activity so it was good to see every thread get a fair bit of a turnout again. Let's see that level of activity once we get to the 426 please... pretty please?... onto the new season!
