Are we changing our gamesytle and coach? We have 5 years of evidence of us not emphasising playing through our wingers.

Well, either something changes or we keep getting what we've got. I think Fagan is out of ideas tactically and we need a succession plan in place to open up more possibilities. I hope we can get an impressive assistant in at the end of this year for a handover at the end of next year.

Multiple journalists have said we're keen on Will McLachlan, leading goalkicker in the Talent League. The last three picks will probably be veterans who are happy to just get another 6 months on a list, or our own VFL players.

What makes you keen on Hately? His stats this season look good, but we're pretty well stocked for inside midfielders.

This is not Charlie wants out rumour? This is nothing more than a rehash of Beveridge and Twomey ruminating about Carlton should go after Charlie to complete their finals team. It has now grown some wings by other lazy journalists to other teams are keeping tabs. Well hello, how many players from other teams are we keeping tabs on? Also, perhaps Charlie's manager taking an opportunity to fan the embers.

Charlie may or may not ask to be traded. However he is still 18 months away from his end of contract and in that time anything could happen. We may make the judgement that his time with us is over and gently take this opportunity to trade him out, or we may panic and offer him a gazillion pesos a year to extend. However history tells us we have a very savvy footy department and our list has very capably been managed by Ambrogio.

Nothing to see here. Yet.

Don't see Charlie going. His missus is a Brisbanite, has a couple of homes up here, would be silly for him to move at this point in his career.

That being said, if his recent form is injury related and his body is stuffed (like the Beams), then I can see the club trading him out.

No reports of him wanting to leave though - all just eyes being on him. Same happened last time, same happened with Neale when he resigned (although there was a small amount of smoke to the fire).

Trusted lions insider Dom Fay dropped something interesting in the last 10 mins of the roar deal this week - paraphrasing but said something along the lines of :



Mike Whiting sort of said 'Yep' quietly and then didn't add anything further.

Time for reckless speculation - who is a key forward out of contract in 2 years, assuming the target is someone who is under contract for 2025?

Only 3 names popped out as making sense from an age perspective:

• Darcy Fogarty
• Tom De Koning
• Oscar Allen

All will be free agents (likely restricted free agents) after next season.

De Koning is a big projection and I don't think likely, but Fogarty seems most likely for me as someone I think we've been linked to previosuly. Otherwise, could be someone under contract for longer but I didn't investigate that further.
