Between Grundy, Flynn, and Sweet we're going to be spoiled for ruck choices next year.

Also realllllly like Taylor Adams if he comes to Sydney. Shouldn't be much more than $400k and at a minimum would be in our starting midfield rotation until Mills is fit.

Should have DPP as well but at about $430k would need to be a keeper. He would be a good one to watch the first few rounds and see how he goes his price wouldn't change much.

IMO doesn't need to be a keeper. He'll be in our starting midfield, I reckon he can easily make $100-150k if you trade him out at the right time.

Regardless, F6 at worst I reckon if he comes to the Swans I reckon. Even when Mills returns, I could see us playing him in defence and leaving Adams in the guts.

Paddy Dow Could be a decent starter next season if he goes to the Saints. Will probably be the replacement for Gresham and he will be priced at 55 approx $300k after 10 games this season (5 as Sub) but his last 4 games went 83,98,99,66 @ 86.5 average.

CARLTON midfielder Paddy Dow appears set to request a trade to St Kilda, after Sydney's interest in the uncontracted Blue did not progress.

Dow is set to make his final call this weekend ahead of the Trade Period kicking off on Monday, though the Saints have long been in the box seat for the clearance-winner despite interest from the Swans.

With Sydney focusing its attentions on securing a move for Melbourne free agent James Jordon, Demons ruckman Brodie Grundy, Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams and Fremantle defender Joel Hamling, its interest in Dow did not evolve.

The Blues will not delist Dow, meaning any trade with the Saints will need to be negotiated throughout the player movement window.

Dow has been searching for more senior opportunities, having featured just 14 times across the last two seasons at Ikon Park.

But the former No.3 draft pick still had a late impact in Carlton's season, averaging 21.8 disposals and 6.5 clearances across the final month of the home and away campaign.

No way Flynn comes in and takes the number 1 ruck spot. BJ Williams is actually a handy player, he's just had no support and been thrown into the deep end. He'll have to fight for his spot if they want one ruck, or he'll dual ruck with BJ (what I expect).

Sweet and Grundy however will be the number 1 ruck (70-80%).

re Tay Adams: the soft tissue injuries are mounting. Going to Sydney and being asked to be their main in-and-under player screams he'll be injured soon. Above $300k, no way for me.

DevRob staying at the Lions was disappointing. He would have been great as the main man in the middle for the Eagles. Hard pass now. He's not getting anywhere near that midfield.

Dow me likey.

Port still looking to try get soldo as “still looking to bring in a genuine 1st ruck”

Huge alarm bells on sweet after that. He’s clearly not moving for a guaranteed 1st ruck but rather a move home with weaker competition ahead of him.

I hope Soldo dosen't leave and he is contracted until the end of next season but I don't blame him if he does go he has been on our list for 9 years and only played 57 games.

Adams is too injury prone. He's too expensive to be a cash cow, and if you're prepared to have him as a cheap F6 he needs to play every game.

I'm more interested in what happens at Collingwood. Do they give a rookie a run early doors? Macrae or Allan? You'd think they would want to get games into some young players.

I reckon Macrae should get a chance early I the piece next year. I'd probably stay away from either unless they look too good to pass up in the pre-season, or until they've played 2 games.

Regarding Adans, he has had his issues with soft tissue injuries, but even then he only missed 1 H&A game this year and 4 last year. Would be a risk, but I reckon he'll be our number one inside man with Parker spending more time forward. Will have to see what we do in pre-season.

Gould delisted. Farewell, sweet prince.
One of the saddest days of my life. It's not gonna feel right not having the C on him for all of pre-season. :(

Ruck choices looking brilliant.

Good. Now Horse can stop ruining SC for all of us and Gould can find a spot in a team's best 22 and finish out the the 2024 season at D1 in my side.
Better yet, if someone picks him up and plays him as a forward as we were doing in the VFL, he can finish the year as D1/F1 🤤
