Especially if they won the flag over the still twitching corpse of our St Kilda-like in-the-mix-but-falling-at-the-last-hurdle version of a premiership window

Had a sporting carnival down there in 95 and stayed at the Rooty Hill RSL Hotel.

1st night we decided to have a walk around the local area and couldn't understand why the coaches/managers blew up and were worried about 17/18 kids walking the streets of Mount Druitt at midnight

That's 20+ years after my "time" ..... no hotel then.
The demographics were similar, but the "ethnic" mix vastly different. (but could still be intimidating for a late teen, quite a ways from his own patch ..... don't recall ever "visiting" on my own).

But then, I don't recall all that much these days.

However, with his running capacity now greatly improved, Rayner is ready for the jump.

“He's playing a bit more midfield time and we'll roll with that," Fagan said.

That's silly. Even for him.

Sometimes he says some smart things which you'd expect if you say a lot of things.

So just says anything . If it's good he's smart ,if it's silly he gets a reaction which overall is the purpose.

He obviously has a lot of hot takes but I agree that often they aren’t silly.

This one is a product of his hatred for long contracts (unless they are port players) and recency bias from hippy having a quiet finals series.

Hippy’s accuracy fell in the finals last year and that was part of the issue. Just the year before he was our best player in the tigers and dees finals.

On reflection we had guys down in the GF from whom you would have reasonably expected a lot more.

So we did well to almost pinch it.
