Yep, last week and this week we showed how good our mids can be. Gold Coast and Port have very good players, but didn't have answers for us when we hit full tilt.

I think having Cinc, Elijah, Williams and Fog rolling up to those stoppages really gives us the dynamic we've been missing. I know it's been said, but huge thumbs up to the coaching group for trying something new with Williams and Cincotta.

Now I'm really looking forward to putting the bombers midfield in their place.
We are a good injury run away from a premiership imo...but will it ever happen?

People talk about 'next man in' and yes we've done pretty well over the last year covering injuries and can win.

But getting Gov and Saad back has strengthened our backline and allowed us to play Williams and Cinc in different positions.

Getting Fog back seems to be important as he is becoming a barometer.

Our midfield depth is tested without Doc and Cerra. A fit and firing Martin adds a different dynamic to our forward line.

Please can we just have a good injury run for once...

I was at that game. It was a brilliant win.
Special Fried kicked that goal at the end I was viewing from. Had a perfect view of the whole lead and chase/failed rundown from McKenna.

As you say, that was two elite teams in their prime. West Coast were the reigning premiers, we were soon to take their title.
Some of the greatest players ever to play the game were on the field that day.

As much as I hate Port, last night's game doesn't come close to that game.
You can actually hear Terry Wheeler(I think) who was doing special comments that game say under his breath," yes!" when rice kicked that goal

Just saw it and was incredibly impressed. Quickly becoming one of my favourites. Loving his move on ball. And it's odd because he doesn't really get any clearances but the eye test tells me he has improved that midfield. Might just be his ability to spread from the contest.
Interesting to see him elevated to our no.1 centre square brigade with Cerra out.

Last few games we've started with Cripps, Walsh and e Hollands in the middle.

Not getting huge numbers but seems to be getting a job done and is still learning.

His ball use stands out.

I'm sure I'll get the "Dn't tag em minow"

Confused Robert Downey Jr GIF

Don't tag me "fatso" .

Pre season before opening round lots of injuries team selection a little unknown.

12 rounds later……

Zac becomes a small forward.

Cinc becomes a midfield tagger.

Cowan comes into defence.

TDK and Kemp emerge.

Credit to those players for their improvement and match committee/Voss for team structure.

His ability to spread is incredible. Even in open play, his ability to get open and hit an open player with every single disposal is brilliant. Has all the traits to be come a highly skilled 20 disposal, 2 goal a game mid-forward, whose every disposal is maximum impact. Zac Bailey, De Goey, Rankine, Dusty like.

There is an equanimity about EH that is beneficial beyond himself.

Brilliant interstate win against a very good Port Adelaide team.

That Swans game has been put well behind us now.

We'll send the Bombers crashing back down to earth next week as well.

Key players are coming back into the fold, the fixtures won't be as gruelling as what we were subjected to over the past few weeks either.

We're going to have a major say in regards to finishing in the top four. That was a statement win from this team i think.

Good to hear el capitano talk about staying aggressive rather than going into our shell.

Looking for a few % boosters in the run home to glory.

Hats off to the coaching staff for doing something they haven't particularly done well and repositioned some players.

Cincotta playing half forwards flank as the plus one was a good one.

Williams going forward is paying off nicely.

Playing Elijah Hollands as an onballer was excellent.

Harry McKay as a forward ruck, yes this was forced but wow does he kill it in this role. Love him in the midfield, he was excellent.

DeKoning as Sole and Number One ruck. Again forced but it happened. Love that as well. He's a complete package ruck now. We need to embrace that.

Sometimes you take a player on their traits and give them another role or position and it works. I hate the idea of locking a player into a position or a role.
