I don't see a compelling argument for Kolo to be in front of anyone you named.

I very much doubt they'll drop Kolo. We like having three tall defenders, where one can peel off and intercept. I thought he played his role well (even with his limitations) 2016-2022. I just haven't been convinced since, despite desperately wanting him to be solid again.

MOC I've always been a bit on the fence about. Cops it a bit harshly but hasn't quite settled into the player he showed potential of being. Tuohy has more runs on the board and still has more about him.

Remember we are rolling Holmes and Duncan through half back now. We have a LOT of defenders. How many can we squeeze in?

With our heavy midfield rotations we need a bench with two on ballers, a defender and a forward. The sub could be any role. If we start all of Bews, Kolo, MOC and Tuohy in we are very defender heavy unless we say Duncan and Holmes will not spend a minute in defence.

The match report on the AFL website notes that Kolo hurt his back in the second quarter and was pulled from the game at half time. So it's possible that he won't be under consideration for a Round 1 berth at all now.

Always miss one! LOL Nearly didn't have Holmes in either until I put him in at the last minute. Would put him in for either Tuohy or Mannagh.

Ironic too as Vdubs didn't rate that side at the time, so why are we trying to replicate it?

In all seriousness, all of Dempsey, Bowes & Mannagh have to play. Whether that be two starting and one as the sub, then so be it.

Admittedly he was the fresh legs, but we looked a much more dynamic midfield when Bowes was injected in. That's two very good performances in a row, he deserves a shot.

Neale misses out as O Henry will play, and Rohan may be available too. He'll get plenty of chances though, and deserves them, but the circumstances are against him right now.

Holmes will end up as a winger.
Tuohy will rarely play in defence. Off the bench or sub
MOC is a utility
Bews and Kolo are lockdown defenders
ZG and Stewart are the attacking defenders.
DeK and JHenry are the KB's.
Duncan will be like Tuohy and MOC- like roaming on-ballers, filling gaps.

I'd also love it if he turned out to be great just to show that in 2020, the year west coast got TK from us, they could have continued to develop their own talent but walked away.

26 out there tonight. Olly Henry to come in. So 4 need to go out and 1 other becomes sub.

Neale for Henry is obvious. He's shown a bit but he's not there yet.

I think both Mullin and Bews miss. Mullin needs games but that can be VFL level for not. Bews looks fumbly and uncertain to me. I think his time might be done.

The 4th and sub are really tough. If it were a grand final I think I leave out Clark but he's shown plenty and desperately needs games. So I think I leave out Mannagh and make Tuohy the sub.

Dempsey has potential, for sure. He or Rohan. Unless OH is injured.
