Gawn is the elephant in the room. Looks old and slow. What to do...
Would not read anything into it with this game.

He looked a million dollars in the practice game against Carlton.

He plays better on the bigger ground.

He has been this game.

Basically figured out this cheat code where he spends 3/4s of the centre bounces half ignoring the ball and running straight over to block Gawn's path, and its worked.

And Grundy's looked a lot more lively around the ground.
This new ruck rule at the centre bounce is a joke.

No incentive for either ruckman to jump. All they need to do is block each other's path to the ball.

This was the thing I was really looking out for tonight. Even if Gawn dominated the ruck, if ground level Grundy was back that would have been enough for me to be confident in the pick

This is just a bonus

Everyone putting Jordan back in now kenties?

Another change for something that wasn’t broken.

Viney been good throughout the preseason carrying that form into the season proper, 130+ in a losing side.
Could he be the breakout player?

Jackson to lose ruck time once Darcy gets back in, and Heeney to lose mid time once Parker and Adams get back in...

So your saying they are both a lock for the whole season...

I'm a Swans man, I've always been a glut for starting one Swans premo, so was going to make an exception here in lieu of byes. Last year was Mills which turned out a shocking pick... this year was Gulden, but I think you're right here.
Gulden is still a great option, wouldn't overanalyze tonight, but confirms for me that they are better as upgrade targets
Obvious risks and we've all been there before, but Heeney has been eye-catching.
And it's the defensive side he has showed that has been impressive.
