My R0 side based on last night. It modifies the Grand Final team. Murphy might replace Frampton but I'd set the sub as a defender if he is playing. Before McCreery plays midfield, he needs to accumulate more. Some positioning changes might take place, maybe Markov is sub to allow Sullivan to start given how dominant he is. Dean could compete for Frampton's spot. Obviously it makes the assumption Sullivan is signed.

B: Frampton, Moore, Howe

HB: Maynard, Quaynor, Markov

C: Sidebottom, Pendlebury, Mitchell

HF: Hill, Mihocek, Elliott

F: McCreery, De Goey, Daicos

R: Cox, Daicos, Crisp

INT: Lipinski, Cameron, Schultz, Macrae

Sub: Sullivan

IN: Schultz (club debut), Sullivan (debut), Macrae, Lipinski

OUT: Ginnivan, Hoskin-Elliott (ommitted), Murphy (injured).
No chance of Wilbur being dropped, not after his GF excellence.

So sounds like we will find out the SSP in the 24hrs-48hrs. I believe they have the list management meeting tomorrow.
Wonder if leaving this decision to virtually the last minute is based on Murphy - wonder if they are considering the movement of Murphy to the LTI list and to then take either Eyre or Sof?

Eyre and Bytel are considered strong hopefuls for the remaining list spots if Collingwood add more players before the SSP period ends.

That deep role is more important - they'll play the best at it in the role. Last year, Jezza was on the last line in R1. Then he broke his arm and then Murphy excelled in the role and kept him out of the spot. Dean or Frampton would have to go past Howe to get the gig - possible but doesn't seem that likely to me.
I think you’re imagining things. Yeah, Howe was named on field at full back, but we all know that means naff all, and he broke his arm that game going for an intercept mark over the top of Stengle with no KPP opponent in sight.

VAFA star Sam Sofronidis is understood to have missed the cut as a summer rookie

So now its down to Bytel. Hustwaite. Teakle. Eyre.

He broke his arm doing what Murphy, Moore and he do so well - sprinting forward off his man to impact an aerial contest in front of him. They regularly do it without their direct opponent in sight.

Match ups for our aerial defenders are secondary to field position. We position two deep a kick and a half away from the ball to defend aerial contests - then those two get a man based on who the deepest forwards are. Moore will play on Bailey Fritsch if he positions deepest and most central for the Dees, etc... It was Moore and Howe in 2022 as the deepest. It started that way again for half a game. Then Howe got injured and Frampton became Moore's partner for a couple of weeks. Then the rucks got injured and Murphy took over and excelled.

Explain why WHE is undroppable.
Dear Smocky, no one is suggesting WHE is undroppable. I think the laughable part was your suggestion that a 9 gamer and a bloke just added to our list are "well-ahead" of a bloke who has played over 150 games for us in 7 years.

You really shouldn't use the McHale name like this.

Yes perhaps the well-ahead was an exaggeration. I will amend said post.

And Bytel!

Interesting pick-up but midfield depth at worst. Obviously, fitness played a part in him being drafted.

No Teakle so yet again our tall stocks are a bit on the slimmer side, particularly if the situation with Murphy worsens (no guarantee).
