I hate to sound disloyal, but Is anybody else like me hoping they don't all come back?
Hogan comes back he takes their best defender straight away, whether at his best or not.
Opens up the others.

Stringer back put him as sub and well we all know what he can do there.

Buckley is better the Aleer on one leg even.

Cogs straightens us up, Kelly even slightly slower than when in his prime is still amazing.

It's not disloyal, I don't think there's any chance we make 5 changes going into this game.

If you listen to kingers in recent press conferences he repeatedly says that it's something they're really going to have to consider, how many people they can bring back at once. He's shown in the past he does not like making too many changes, especially to a winning team.

I'm betting on 3 to 4 changes, with one of those being the sub.

After 2 fade outs in last year's finals they'd wanna go in with a mostly fit squad you'd think.

I'd have stringer, daniels and coniglio in this week, the others could wait till the following week coz those spots have cover that have played a few games in a row already, not as good a cover, but reasonable enough in Kelly - Thomas, Buckley - aleer, Hogan - gruz.

FWIW, media speculation on the team:

GWS five in the mix

The Giants are yet to rule out any of their five senior players who are looking to prove their fitness for Saturday's elimination final against Hawthorn.

Josh Kelly (calf), Jake Stringer (hamstring) and Jesse Hogan (foot) will all train fully this week in their respective pursuits of recalls from injury.

Key defender Jack Buckley won't train until Thursday as he nurses a calf injury sustained during the week of the club's final home and away season game.

GWS veteran Stephen Coniglio is scheduled to exit concussion protocols on Friday following a concern picked up in Round 24, and is expected to face the Hawks.

GWS

The Giants are set to be significantly strengthened for their elimination final against the Hawks, with a handful of key players tipped to return.

Adam Kingsley is positioned to recall Jesse Hogan and Jake Stringer, as well as Brent Daniels, Josh Kelly and Jack Buckley.

Veteran midfielder Stephen Coniglio had a strong finish to his season before suffering a head knock, and may rely on the pre-finals break to be deemed fit to face the Hawks.

The wave of potential ins means a few incoming outs for Kingsley to consider, with young contingent Max Gruzewski, Leek Aleer, Jacob Wehr, and Ryan Angwin among the most likely to miss.

In-form winger Harvey Thomas and recent Rising Star nominee Harry Rowston are also in danger of being omitted despite a good end to their respective campaigns.

Hogan, Kelly, Buckley, Daniels, Wehr, Coniglio, Rowston, Thomas

Ins: Hogan, Buckley, Kelly, Stringer, Daniels

Hogan, Daniels, Coniglio, Stringer seem the obvious ins. Kelly is so fragile these days unless he is 100% I wouldn’t risk him with the other ins, and Buckley unfortunately won’t be ready. A few blokes are going to be unlucky to miss out. Giants have had so many injuries this season unlike the Hawks.

Just back to the subject of ticketing, I emailed Ticketmaster yesterday to request swapping my 3 seats in bay 205 to something in 226 and had a reply last evening saying it had been done. As long as the new seats aren't a higher $ value than the existing they can do it. Worth a try for anyone thinking of doing the same.

My gut feel is that we'll give Buckley another week to recover. It's one thing to go in with forwards who are 90% fit, but you don't want to take that gamble on a defender.

In: Daniels, Kelly, Stringer, Hogan
Out: Wehr, Angwin, Rowston, Gruzewski

Wouldn't mind Brown moving to sub as a bit of insurance for Hogan/Stringer.

I think you're probably right re Buckley. There's so way to cover it if he goes down. And we would need him going forward if we make it.
I don't mind Stringer as the sub. Brown can be ON or OFF so he's the perfect switch to flick

Th Whateley show. Across the divide segment with Andrew Voss. Absolutely smashing us with regard to talk about Aussie rules and the Giants in Sydney.
Voss practically laughing about it.
He basically said there was more interest in rugby league and the Giants hadn't received the attention the Swans would have if they made the finals. I'd say that's a pretty fair assessment.

No, he basically said there are tumble weeds in Sydney about any discussion about AFL or the Giants. if we are going the “he basically said”.

That the club has not taken up the Sydney AFl mantle and he said Whateley needs to come up early with a mega phone.
