No, he basically said there are tumble weeds in Sydney about any discussion about AFL or the Giants. if we are going the “he basically said”.
Is he wrong? I get all my footy talk from Fox Footy and SEN. Maybe the mainstream media and public are talking about without my knowledge, but I get the feeling GWS v Hawthorn hasn't exactly captured the city's attention.

Attending the opening round match against the Swans, I was really shocked at what a who's who their games are. Suspect they get more attention because the influential all barrack for them.

All the best for a good game on Saturday.

He isn't, more is the pity. A failure of the AFL, Matthews and Read

No, Its because the are all in on the Eastern Suburbs. They have their crappy identity. We have famous supporters too.

Not just the famous faces, they all struck me as the private school set. Very odd. Even Demons crowds aren't like that.
The new light rail makes it very easy to get to SCG, regardless of where you live in sydney. Engie is harder to get to by public transport ( i am not a campaigner as such for us to play at SCG by the way).

Yeah you're correct. I read an article in the SMH a couple of years ago and it stated that a lot of Swans supporters are the Eastern Suburbs set and even quoted one punter who said words to the effect "Attending a Swans game at the SCG is a great networking opportunity". Made me feel a bit ill.

Had to do a double take - then realised you actually typed in 'campaigner'.

While Engie is a hassle to get to, I wouldn't say the light rail is a great solution for the SCG. The crowds after the game were terrible. Faster and much nicer to walk back.

never got the whole transport options are better at Moore Park.

Engie has heavy rail station to pretty much the door. SCG doesn’t.
Engie has multiple massive car parks with the M4 right there. SCG doesnt.
Taxi, buses you could probably say are equal.
Light rail, SCG ahead but we are getting one shortly.
Metro, well here is where we are also ahead in that we are getting a metro connection and their isn’t one to Moore Park.

Hogan is set to be joined back in the Giants side by fellow forward Jake Stringer and key midfielder Josh Kelly, who barring any late mishaps will make their comebacks from injury against the Hawks.

Doubts still remain over Jack Buckley, who sat out Tuesday's session as planned while he deals with a calf injury, and Brent Daniels, who looked frustrated as he left the track early.

His captain insists he's still in the mix to play despite his early exit from training.

We are getting smashed on across the divide, by both Whateley and Voss.

Gerrard is an sycophant to the Sydney nrl media and vossy has been death riding the giants for years wanting them to relocate to Canberra. Why? Coz as with all rugby league media, they see extra afl content in Sydney as a threat. No doubt there are elements to what they say being true, however you've gotta look at the agenda behind it, from voss in particular. Interesting he says it's getting no coverage, when his own so called sports show gives literally nothing intentionally when it comes to AFL coverage.

The one part I did agree with is the afl continually leaving free air time throughout the year to the nrl, to get the sports watcher with nothing else on to give their sport a try. A luxury that never afforded by the nrl to the afl. Another asleep at the wheel moment by the current AFL admin, that are well and truly outta their depth. It's why I'd have a wildcard weekend to fill the void, it has more positives than negatives for the game. In fact, if they played the legends game Friday night instead of Thursday clashing with the all Australian awards, the weekend would have been more filled with content. How they didn't recognise this is alarming too.

Doesn’t change that they are the heads of their fields for the “general public” Whateley for AFL media and Voss for sports media in Sydney, even though he is an NRL bought and paid for warrior.

I think for all the charades from ticketmaster, like they did last year, we're finally getting close to sellout. You can tell because now the bays only have a couple of random seats here and there amongst a whole lot of greyed out ones.

On the contrary, when you see a bunch of rows in each section released, that typically means more rows will be released afterwards in that same bay.

About 50 single and double seats left. Surely it would be wise to release standing room now rather than waiting for all seats to be sold. I’ve people a choice and you will sell more tickets.

Yeah, also I don't like there being standing room not sold, coz people at engie leave their seats to stand up the back. Makes the deserted red seats stand out and the clowns in the media start the 'crowd not good enough' narrative.

That’s more to do with the cameras aimed at the opposition not at our members stands.

I just watched the GWS V Saints Rd 24 game, if the game is anywhere as good as that game, we will be in for a cracker on Saturday.

I brought this up in attendances, but id love to see the Giants cash in given the Swans out of the finals and the focus on NSW this week will be on the Giants.
