It's concerning that everyone mentions Thebby as a home ground for the women's team, but no mention of our SANFL side. Surely they will also have a home ground after all these years of playing at everyone else's homes?

Probably a contract to be worked through first

Olsen said when the SANFL agreement is up, if not sooner.

Given the shit crowds we generate, I can’t see the other SANFL clubs concerned about giving that game up.

Clubs have been actively offloading the second Adelaide game for this reason.

This is why we’ve had several curtain raisers to AFL games in recent years (give the SANFL side a chance to play on Adelaide Oval instead of making a loss on match day), and we’ve often been one of the sides sent to regional areas for the country game that’s part of the Country Championships.

Olsen has mentioned it. He said current contract will be finished by then so Thebarton is where they would like them to play.

Have a listen to this interview. At the 5.30 mark, Olsen says he hopes the SANFL team will play at Thebby. Possibly before the current contract expires.

From Norwood Website today.
Meanwhile, we are in constant communication with Lachlan McAndrew (210cm former Sydney Swans ruck) and the Crows regarding his commitment to Norwood.

McAndrew has committed to Norwood for the SANFL season. He has been training with the Crows in recent months for an AFL list spot, following Kieran Strachan’s injury. The AFL’s SSP window closes soon, and we will have a clearer understanding of the situation from that point.

MSD will be our only option once the deadline is passed for the SSP, I'm guessing it will be the same as 2023 when the new rules were implemented...Feb 19 at 5pm.

McAndrew played in the internal trial. Does that mean he is in the Crows SANFL side this season.

Can't see it if he's signed a SANFL contract with Norwood unless we bought it out.

For an AFL list spot the SSP period deadline is next Friday.....and we have no vacanct list spots currently.

M.S.D. is then the only option and if he guns it up in the SANFL prior he will likely be picked up before our pick unless we are bottom or near bottom at that point.

So the bottom line is all round shit list management.

Strachan would need to suffer a setback in a hurry to find himself on the inactive list. Shame Smith won't do the right thing and retire, but then, the coaching group obviously want him on the list, otherwise he'd have been tapped on the shoulder.

MacAndrew looked better than our AFL ruck at times yesterday. They should've identified him before we set our list in stone. Hopefully we'll find a way to get him anyhow.

I think its a matter of dealing with it when we need to. I am sure we would like more at Adelaide Oval but its fairly cost prohibitive opening the gates that early.
