Even when you look at our Tassie boys could only really say Banks is a good chance imo

Mansell is loved up with Conti now so doubt he moves and Seth looks like he has no plans at all to return to Tassie given his contract and even before plenty of whispers that he never wanted to return to tas

Nank might go if his body is still right but I’m not even sure how settled his wife is in Melbourne given she is pregnant as well

Means Tassie will be forced to throw money at non apple islanders but that will only get them so far

I love Tassie and the idea of them having a side but I still hold very strong doubts that they will be able to sustain a list that could contend
word is Banks is very, very happy at Richmond (know someone with Banks family links)
the chances of him going are very low (10% low)

Conti has had as many guys as Mia Fevola has had 1st round draft picks... anything can happen in that space.

Make It Rain Money GIF

Money talks especially if they struggle to attract players i can see the Tassie boys getting silly $$$$ thrown at them

My top 15 mock (assuming Carlton trades 9 and 11 to Essendon and North respectively)

1. Duursma (West Coast)
2. Uwland (Gold Coast - West Coast bid matched)
3. Dean (Carlton - West Coast bid matched)
4. CDT (West Coast)
5. Patterson (Gold Coast - Richmond bid matched)
6. Anable (Brisbane - Richmond bid matched)
7. Taylor (Richmond)
8. Cumming (Richmond)
9. Robey (Essendon)
10. Sharp (Essendon)
11. Nairn (Melbourne)
12. Schubert (Melbourne)
13. Farrow (Essendon)
14. Grlj (Hawthorn)
15. Dovaston (North Melbourne)
You just beat Cal to the punch

yes, its true..............but I'm just putting out what I've been told

also, our Tassie boys are really close mates (so I've been told)
would be very surprising, unless it's a really big offer, for any of them to leave.........or unless it's a club decision

anyway, as everyone knows Tassie is cold, rainy and a shithole ;)

The solution seems simple really.

Let's trade our 2027 first rounder and 2027 second rounder for Blues / Dees / Bombers first this year.

we take XT, Robey AND Cumming and get the **** out of there.

*zero thought has been put into the actual logistics of how any trade like that would work, I just want all 3 players..
I know you're joking but in all seriousness I hope we're careful and realise this is a pretty shit draft - Robey would have been lucky to be a first rounder last year. You look at his resume and its not that great - he's really only had a couple of good games. That he's a top 5 prospect shows that there is very little competition. And that a Duursma is a clear number 1 says it all.

I like XT - but mainly because he's a full on competitor and will bleed for the tiges - not becuase he's actually that good.

Its too easy to get caught up in the excitement and get fomo around these players as they get built up more and more as the draft approaches. Some clubs get caught up in this hype - I reckon Essendon are so desperate for some good PR they'll make a dumb trade - we just need to be available and help them facilitate that :)

I hear you.

I have said all along that Taylor (and Grill for that matter) were better gets if we split our pick, and would still prefer 2 of Sharp, Robey and Cumming). We didn't win our premierships because of Vlastuin, we won because we had two brownlow medallist onballers and all our other guns who rotated through the square.

If they want to pencil in back flank onto our upcoming premiership side then that's all well and good but not what I think is most pressing. But at the end of the day, I back these guys to know what the hell they are doing. I won't melt if we end up with Robey and Taylor. There are worse ways to squander picks.
There are zero guarantees with mids: Phillips, Tambling, Trengove, Morton, Morabito, Polec, Tyson, O'Rourke, Toumpas, Billings, Fiora, Setterfield, SPS, Dow, Stephenson, D Stephens, B Campbell, Tsatas...

All taken top-6.....keeping in mind our picks after bids are really going to be 6-8.

Having said that, my order of preference is Robey/Sharp, then Robey/Taylor, then Robey/Cumming, then Sharp/Taylor, then then Sharp/Cumming, then Taylor/Cumming.

Im a Roby supporter and would love a Robey / Cumming combo
But im thinking its going to be Cumming / Taylor

Players being tracked 2-3 years out gives me reason to think thats the way it plays out unless we do split
Rhy and Toce were close and have to believe that work they did last year would have been involved heavily in the taylor/ Cumming boys with Robey really not in the conversation and another reason would be Francis jackson. Taylor and Cumming are exactly the types he would select and he is now looking after futures as he was doing last year

Just thinking the body of work they have done in the last 2 years will be on their minds and sway their thinking away from Robey

I agree, also the part that sways me to who we might be choosing between Robey & Cumming was they went and saw Cummings only a few days ago, so to me that's a heavy indication who we might pick, today even though Rhy was trying to be impartial he referenced Taylor as our boy. Might have just been a nothing comment but hard to ignore.

A tweener back pocket defender with pick three FFS. This is where you find Marcus Bontempelli, Dustin Martin or Christian Petracca, etc. Not Lewis Melican, Tom Doedee or Aidan Corr.

Xavier Taylor would have to be the most underwhelming top three draft pick of all time. Lachie Plowman had more about him coming through the system.

I thought we were past the days of getting vanilla stragglers in because they had a “good character” and supported the club growing up.

That second pick better be Robey to make up for this disaster.
Who's the Dusty/Bont or Trac of this draft?

No Rhy said that XT kept telling them he’s our guy

I kinda want us to trade up our pick 38 for Jevan Phillipou.
There's every chance I'm just getting caught up in the excitement of it all but if someone is wanting to accept 38 and like our FF2 to get back in before he gets picked then I'm on board.

We aren't talking to the bloke for nothing...
He is a deadset gun and if we called him at 4 i would not be upset.

Massive difference in resumes with cumming and Robey.
Robey playing against east Donny, Mitchem Eastern League plonks + 4-5 good Coates league games as a whole resume…

Compared to Sam Cumming under 18 SA mvp as a bottom ager, multiple games as a bottom ager at national champs, AFL academy, already done multiple sessions with Port Adelaide last pre season, all Australian top ager in a completely dominant south Australian team, then four senior games at SANFL level averaging 16 touches, 4 tackles, 4 clearences, including having a 21 & 3.1 5 tackles, 5 clearences, 6 i50’s against south Adelaide, also completely out testing Robey at the combine.

The selection would have to be pretty clear if you’re basing it purely off runs on the board.
Picking Robey on the back of games against Eastern Suburban Hillbilies is so Greg Miller.
