Can anybody work out what pick our #38 becomes ?
and also what number it is in the open draft

Impossible to know obviously with so many possible bids.

But I did a quick mock and had it at 34 with 11 bids before (Uwland, Dean, Patterson, Annable, Kyle, Murray, Carmichael, Ison, Williams, King and Sweid) and 1 not matched (Addinsall).

I don't buy the line of it being a routine visit just to see Cumming's family. Seems like our guys place a high value on character and family environment, I don't see our meticulous team leaving it that late to go and do that.

Surely we were there to tell him we're gonna take him.
Plus the bit where he says "not sure how you guys knew that we were doing that".

You don't go up to Mildura if you don't have to.

There is going to be alot of nice players left at our #38 which is looking like #33/#34 according to Twomeys draft
Pou , BOB , LeRay, Greeves , NHH, Ludowyke , Dalton , Holmes , Onley , Allen , Kickett , Ainsworth , Rodriguez
Jeez maybe we take Kickett in the rookie draft the way things are shaking out. Can we even use pick 68?

What’s our list position again? 4 + 1 rookie, or 4 total available spots? I’m sure the club is all over it, but is there a scenario where Kellaway gets a bid and we’ve already filled our primary list, meaning we can’t match. Would be unfortunate.

With my wife being from there I’d second that last statement.

That said, we met with Xavier Taylor recently as well as Robey last week.

So I’m not sure it’s the definitive call most are assuming.

We can be flexible, 5 lists spots.

All depends on when/if the Kellaway bid comes at.

Can go 3 picks in ND, 2 Rookies.
Or 4 picks in ND, 1 Rookie.

While its looking food with Robey & Cumming which is what i was wanting/hoping to get
I genuinely believe cal is having a foot in each door by selecting Cumming first then Robey

#7 - Cumming
#8 - Robey
#9 - Taylor

I still think its very possible we take Taylor and Roby gets to the Bombers and thats why he has them where he has so if that eventuates, he doesn't look far off the mark

We apparently met with Robey’s family “again” last week, so we seem keen.

Twomey has fallen for the old Bone Allan fly over to see the family Friday before the draft again...

Hasn’t been draft night yet

For anyone interested, I went back over the accuracy of the top picks in these mocks from Cal.

2020:
1st pick only correct

2021:
first 9 of 9 correct

2022:
first 11 / 11 correct

2023:
first 7 / 7 correct

2024:
first 10/10 correct

last 4 years he has knocked it out of the park and it is going to take an out of the blue year for him to not be on the money, especially when talking about the top 5 picks.

Not to say it can't happen of course!

But recent history suggests its more likely that he is correct.

what is also interesting is the sharp turn of events from 2020 - 2021. I'm not sure if his status in the AFL circle rose dramatically in that time and was maybe granted a bit more info / access than previous?
