Take Kondogiannas at 38 mid defenderHave been set on Cumming since the champs. Very happy if we end up with him. He has the agility and fast feet out of stoppage we need. He can dodge tackles and create something out of nothing. Very few on our list have those traits and the few that do don't have the class to match.
Out of the rumoured 4 - Cumming, Roby, Grlj, Taylor. He's my number #1.
Roby next. But he has some risk with the lack of exposure and the concerning sprint time. I caught up with his games and he has smarts, decent burst (not amazing ) and goal kicking that is valuable. His upward running style and gait kind of reminds me of Harvey Langford without the elite kicking. But he's an easily selection over the Sharp and Greeves types. You don't take one paced inside mids this high in the modern game.
I will say this, at some point Richmond has to take the risk on the electric outside player with class like a Grlj type even if they lack the accumulation and inside game. And hope they develop it. Max Holmes had no contested game as a junior. If they take one of those two hopefully it's the right one. I have Roby slightly ahead as he has more tools in his game and overall probably more talent.
Xavier Taylor last. I hope he goes to Essendon. You need to seriously special as a mid sized defender to be worth a top 5 pick. The positional and list value just ain't there.
So in summary, Cumming at all costs and then let's see. If the Essendon trade up deal is there I'm taking Cumming and that trade to have 3 1sts instead of 2 and then happily taking whatever is left over.
