So what would the trade look like if we were to do the deal?
If it's Bombers it'd be something like 6 and 9 for 3... we might ask for 5, 9 for 3.

If it's Dees, we'd ask for 7,8 for 3 as a starting point.

I think we'd actually want a F1 from either but think they'd be reluctant to part with a F1.

Either way, I don't think we will go for something 'fair'. I think it'd be overs our way.

In all seriousness tiger fans, idk what it is but everytime we select someone affiliated with Richmond it’s always cash money, wether it be Durham, Mass, Sheedy.

It’s why I want Taylor and I think it’s a big mistake by you guys to pass up on it if cal is correct (obviously things can change). Surely you take Robey and Taylor, don’t you think Taylor can be that Josh Weddle type of player and just play that wing role, offers a point of difference to your other half backs.

It does make me think you guys did want O’Sullivan last year and strongly considered him at 1 until you went with Lalor, so you probably still see that as a need. Also, who would you say is the most likely to play pure mid out of Robey, Cumming and Lalor. You’d think Cumming surely ?
I like XT, but feel those types can be secured more easily in latter stages of a draft. Weddle, Wilmot, Worrell, Sicily, Stewart, Wilkie, Battle, Idun … some of the best intercept / stoppers and none of them really early picks.

Elite mids are harder to come by outside the top end of a draft, and if you want to get an elite mid outside the pointy end they’ll cost a lot more in trade than a defender.

We often see Premiership teams where majority of the defensive unit was established without a top-end draft picks. Even Richmond’s dynasty had Rance at 18, Vlastuin at 9, and Grimes, Astbury, Broad, Houli, Baker were acquired with scraps.

I don’t see many Premiership teams that don’t include mids taken with pointy end picks, so that should be the priority.

Having said that, if Richmond take Robey / Taylor I’d be ok with that.

Melbourne holds a strong interest in Robey. Let’s see what they offer. Their first pick in this years draft and a future second for pick 4. Sound very attractive.
Melbourne don't have a future second round pick

I would not do any of them for RFC if it was me.

the only thing maybe would be 4 for 5 and 9 and even then I may well not do it

people will say Essendon will not do that. If they want a player bad enough they will. The other thing is I am happy with RFC taking the top two, after WC, so if Essendon are not prepared to budge fine. If Essendon are prepared to budge I am still prepared to take my top two regardless so I am not fussed either way because there are other drafts and trades down the track to factor in for more opportunities

Imagine this thread with half of us 3 sheets to the wind and we pick CDT and Taylor.

World record number perma bans incoming.
Why? CDT is a good get.

I think he’s our ‘Vontae Mack, No matter what’ guy
If you start the movie Draft Day at 5:45pm, the credits should roll right before the first pick of the draft is taken at 7:30pm.
I think I have my plan set for tomorrow night now rather than listening to those muppets waffle on with inane bullshit

To be fair that North trade happened very suddenly and most of us where shocked when it happened. I don’t think any of us where reading North’s board in the lead up waiting for them to “fold”. I don’t believe there was a single rumour of that trade happening before the drafte.

There was of course rumours of pick(s) been traded for the future draft but none of us knew it was going to be North.

On that same basis, we have no idea what clubs might come for with what offers tomorrow. Going to be interesting to see what may play out!
all the north chat pre draft last year was can they get a second top 10 pick for tauru or will they pick him with pick 2

These trades are so delusional and every supporter from any of the other 17 teams would just laugh.

3 went 12 and 14 last year - for Jagga Smith, who would be unanimous pick 1 this year.

Imagine our reaction to 3 and 4 for 1 or 2 lol.

Giving up pick 9 to move up 1 spot is hilarious. Some of the trades in the first round to move up 1 spot:

Essendon gave up pick 31 to move up from COS at 11 to Caddy at 10

Brisbane gave up pick 16 to move from Taranto at 3 to Mccluggage at 2.

Pick 35 and a third rounder to move up from Ben King at 6 to Rozee at 5.

Other trades in the first round:
Pick 23 and 30 to move up from 11 to 6.
Pick 18 to move from from pick 12 to 6.
Pick 26 to move from Melbourne's future 1st to pick 8.
Pick 28 to move from 10 to 8.
Future 2nd to move from pick 14 to 12

Only trade that's remotely in the same stratosphere is GWS trading a future first to move up from pick 6 to pick 4 in the 2019 draft, by offering a future 1st after making the grand final. Maybe if Harley Reid was at pick 4, and the talent then dropped to Noah Cumberland at 5 they'd do this.

Maybe we can get Harley Reid for a future fourth rounder?

We'd get a future 2nd, or pick 21 if Essendon don't trade for pick 9, if Melbourne or Essendon want to trade up 1-4 spots.

Essendon’s potential trade for pick 9 is a bit of a shocker when you look at those picks against the available pool.

Picks 21, 27 and 30 will end up being the following picks when you take out matched bids:

17 - Carlton retain pick 9 or 11
20 - North trade pick 25 to Carlton
21 - GC keep 28 and 29

There’s a lot of half decent players likely to be available at those picks with all the current rumours. You could take a stab at all of Greeves, NHH and Poo based on Twomeys phantom, or take a Ludowyke. All the guys he had rated between 16-21 in his September phantom form guide. Funnily enough Dovaston was also rated 18.

Good news for us is 38 won’t be very far behind if the Essendon trade does go through.
