WOW BLAIR THUKED NTH SO HARD LAST YEAR THATS ITS EFFECTING THEM FOR YEARS.Norf giving up pick 25 plus pick 20ish in a strong draft for pick 11 in a weak draft. Not sure why their fans are celebrating.
I get your point but we aren't desperate to move either pick. If other clubs are desperate to get them, its going to take a "delusional" deal to make it happen. These trades are so delusional and every supporter from any of the other 17 teams would just laugh.
3 went 12 and 14 last year - for Jagga Smith, who would be unanimous pick 1 this year.
Imagine our reaction to 3 and 4 for 1 or 2 lol.
Giving up pick 9 to move up 1 spot is hilarious. Some of the trades in the first round to move up 1 spot:
Essendon gave up pick 31 to move up from COS at 11 to Caddy at 10
Brisbane gave up pick 16 to move from Taranto at 3 to Mccluggage at 2.
Pick 35 and a third rounder to move up from Ben King at 6 to Rozee at 5.
Other trades in the first round:
Pick 23 and 30 to move up from 11 to 6.
Pick 18 to move from from pick 12 to 6.
Pick 26 to move from Melbourne's future 1st to pick 8.
Pick 28 to move from 10 to 8.
Future 2nd to move from pick 14 to 12
Only trade that's remotely in the same stratosphere is GWS trading a future first to move up from pick 6 to pick 4 in the 2019 draft, by offering a future 1st after making the grand final. Maybe if Harley Reid was at pick 4, and the talent then dropped to Noah Cumberland at 5 they'd do this.
Maybe we can get Harley Reid for a future fourth rounder?
We'd get a future 2nd, or pick 21 if Essendon don't trade for pick 9, if Melbourne or Essendon want to trade up 1-4 spots.

Agree I can’t see us moving down unless a F1 is involvedI get your point but we aren't desperate to move either pick. If other clubs are desperate to get them, its going to take a "delusional" deal to make it happen.
Pick 3 last year got West Coast Baker, Owies, Allan, Tom Gross and Hamish Davis.
West coast were desperate and they got more than just 12 & 14.
We aren't looking to trade down but if a club is desperate to move up then they will have to pay overs. Thats the only way a deal gets done
I love Grlj but even I would say there is zero chance he's a Tiger with our first 2 picks.Patrick Ryen on twitter in an echo chamber with all of his Essendon buddies convinced we are taking Taylor and Grlj.
Robey and Cumming are just a huge bluff to force Essendon into a trade.
I don't think Cumming is a bluff.
Robey might be.
But there is one immutable truth, Blair won't blink and will leave this to the very last second if he has to.
For those in the know, when trading picks are you assessing the value of the picks you have pre bids or post bids? as we know this year the DVI is a lot less. 3/4 v 6/7 is significant v 5/6 and 9/10
May as well just post the old foxfooty mock![]()

Would have just posted Cal's but looks like he swapped Emmett to KrasMay as well just post the old foxfooty mock

We'll see what Rhy thinks but if we rate either in the top 20 it's probably too good an opportunity to pass up. NHH offers something a bit different given he can play wing which we need. The prospect of NHH & Jevan being available at our pick in the 30’s is super exciting. I do however have to question whether we need another mid/fwd if we’ve drafted Cumming/Robey on night one.
We also drafted Lalor and Hotton last year who are also mid/fwd’s. I acknowledge they’re still an assortment of different styles with different strength and weaknesses. However, it’s a lot of draft capital used for similar roles.
I’m very excited by the Cumming/Robey duo but if we do draft those two I think i’d prefer to diversify the role of our next pick.

GWS offered a F1 to Adelaide to get ahead of the Tom Green bid. They also finished runners up so it the F1 was expected to be in the teens. These trades are so delusional and every supporter from any of the other 17 teams would just laugh.

Very much so. The interview with Ry on Monday was a smokescreen, there is no way that we don't know who we're picking just 3 days out from the draft. To say that there's still 4-5 players in the open pool that we're still considering is absolute bullshit.I assume it’s because Cal said we don’t want other clubs to know who we are picking.
Given it’s the 3rd and 4th open pick, teams would probably have a fair idea like they do with wce (and to be fair it seems it’s between 3 players for 2 picks), so the most compelling reason imo for being cagey is to hope Bombers/Dees panic Norf style and offer an exorbitant trade.
The only other reason I can think of is either Blair is a troll or sees it as a mark of professional pride not to leak.
Can’t see us entertaining that offer if as predicted players like Poo and NHH are going to still be there for our pick 38There is every chance we do fold, if we want a player desperately like we did with caddy we most likely would trade up.
Richmond 3,4,38,f3 Essendon 5,6,9. Now wouldn’t that shake up the draft. Would give us all the points we need for sweid/HEA and would more then likely give you guys Taylor the Richmond boy and Grlj. I hope we don’t do that trade but would make for exciting viewing. Your thread is occupying 75% of my bigfooty time the amount of shit you guys post and I’m all for it![]()
