There’s no way you could take Kellaway in the rookie draft over a Greeves, NHH or Rodriguez. The talent of those three compared to Kellaway is pretty vast.
thats what most of us thought but here we are at the rookie draft. there's something counting against those guys you cant see in the highlight reels.

If I understand things correctly, we can add Kellaway to the back end of the rookie draft if he's not picked up in the PSD and we can still take someone at pick 2 in the rookie draft.

Now to trawl through the combine results to see who's the quickest :p

So how many recruiters at each club… up to 10 maybe?… that makes it around 150 - 180 resources scouring the country for AFL talent. There is a reason these 3 were not selected.

Fox sports did a draft grading report card for each club how the ** do us and Geelong get the same draft grade of B- Geelong even loved by other media outlets even if they drafted a bunch of 30 year olds they would still get a high grade I wish they would ** off and fold or hit rock bottom

Arguably the two biggest on-field individual highlights last year were high speed run down tackles . Brown / MRJ .
Coupled with oppo sides ability to score easy goals, due to our midfield not able to keep up and our in-ability to score quick end to end goals , pace was a must and I think will prove to be the cherry on top of our rebuild .
Players with pace will make others better , forwards will get more one-one contests , there’ll be more pressure on the oppo ball carriers , more options for our inside mids to deliver the ball to .
Yep, we needed speed for sure.
Lots of posters are upset we took Grlj as early as we did, but looking at how he plays, he’s exactly what we needed. His ability to handball to players running into better positions was a standout for mine, along with obviously his ability to waltz around wouldbe tacklers. When he matures and builds his body shape up, look out. Will be a player.

GPS tracking provides recruiters with lots of analytical data that helps them assess players. Clearly, players highly touted but now undrafted are falling down in some areas.

Dylan Alexander reckons we have won the draft. Loved how intentional we were with each selection. Said it’s very clear what we are trying to do and build
yeah but he is a Richmond supporter

Richmond

Who they picked: Sam Cumming (7), Sam Grlj (8), Zane Peucker (31), Noah Roberts-Thomson (54)

The rebuilding Tigers’ Mildura mission last week to visit Cumming led to them selecting the powerful and tough midfielder-forward, who has earned some Mark Ricciuto comparisons. Richmond then prioritised Grlj’s speed-endurance combination at their second pick, after being impressed with his two performances at half-back for the Tigers’ VFL team late in the year. The speed theme continued on night two with the selections of South Australian forward-midfielders Peucker and Roberts-Thomson, cousin of Sydney’s dual premiership-winning former player Lewis.

National recruiting manager Rhy Gieschen: “We’d expect them [Cumming and Grlj] to be pushing next year, but we’re picking them as long-term prospects, so there’s no real expectation, but I know they’ll be wanting to play because they’re both pretty competitive kids.”

Greeves - big, heavy and SLOW. We don't need another Smillie.
NHH - attitude
Rodrigues - fell away faster than dodgy bitcoin stock. Maybe he peaked at age 16 and everyone caught up to him.

Kellaway has a far greater scope for development than all 3. NHH could possibly fit into this but from what I was told he would need an 180 degree change in his attitude and my source thinks that's unlikely he would do it.

Where did he say this? Like his opinions as I feel like he actually watches the kids vs Twomey and other big journo's who just get fed the information. Would love to hear his post-draft rundown.
