One last thing I'll say is, they were able to match bids on two top 5 picks and two further first round picks by trading out the bottom rung of their best 23 players to accumulate points. These players were undoubtedly going to be transitioned out of their team eventually through natural attrition.

They need to be giving up more equity of consequence to be able to bring in the quality that they are.

The system is changing.

Why are you continuing to argue against something that now doesn’t exist? Anyway, the GC only have these picks because clubs have traded with them.

Maybe the clubs should’ve made a stand and not traded. But of course they wouldn’t because they wanted the players. They would’ve loved it if 16 clubs refused to deal with GC as long as they got their player.

I just saw afl.com.au....with staff writers (Cal Twomey) trumpeting how Cal has 'done it again' with his phantom draft....spruiking how he got most of his predictions correct etc.... why do people have to treat us like idiots? If you don't nail the phantom, just own it, don't give us some word salad trying to show how good you are....not.... But maybe he did better than I thought, so I reviewed which players he got correct where they didn't go to an aligned club (any muppet can get an aligned club correct):

We’ve pretty much just recruited fast short people to pick up the ball and quickly get it to Smillie. You can’t tackle him so he’ll just walk it out of the midfield and lace it out to our stacked forward line.

100% its broke and a stupid system
List sizes should be more and only bottom 4 sides that have been bottom 4 for 3 years should be allowed 5 rookie spots to improve faster and use their cap on improving rather than pay kids more than what they should.
And get rid of the entire PP process
