Now is as good a time to kick off the 2025 thread with the SA U18 Boys pre-season testing day.

Interesting that Dyson Sharp didn't feature in any of the bests though he did test.

Hearing Norwood are losing one of 2026's best prospects Phoenix Hemming full time to the Bendigo Pioneers this year after playing for both at U16's and U18's level. From Merbein so more aligned to the Pioneers, someone should have offered him a private school opportunity in SA.

Annoyingly I reckon the answer to that is going to be yes. Be good if someone could confirm.
Nope Will played for Centrals, Logan plays for West, Will came up through the Barossa and Light League (Tanunda Magpies), Logan came up through the River Murray Football League (Coorong Cats)

I have a feeling both Adelaide and WC are gunning for Cody Curtin in this draft.
Well if that's the case WCE likely going to be better placed than the Crows. On what I've seen lacks the athleticism of Dan,

Cody is a bigger unit than Dan now, at 200cms. He is still growing so will be a taller KPP rather than a midfield option. He can play both ends of the ground, and kick a bag of goals, and is quite agile for his size.
While he is a good player in his own right, and one of the better keys in this year's draft, getting him makes it a bit more attractive to get or keep Dan.
They are very close, and I think the idea of playing together would be very, very attractive for him.
Then again, don't rule Freo out either for Cody.

I think we should get away from the Matt Crouch, Joel Tippett, Max Otten, Michael Talia draft fantasies

The only one we did actually draft of that lot was Matt Crouch, and he is an AA and B&F, so not a problem there.
Cody is a good prospect in his own right

There was a huge amount on Bigfooty about each of the others

Louis Emmett is the best KPP prospect in this draft IMO, also a very competent ruckman with great hands, overhead marking and elite endurance. If I had to pick a player for our 1st pick this far out it would be the silky skilled super quick run and carry WA midfielder Fred Rodriguez, think maybe even a better version of Colby McKercher stylistically.

Is the (current crystal ball) top 25 of the draft yet again compromised by F/S, NGA's and Northern academies or is it much cleaner this year?

High quality game U18's game between Norwood and South, good skills in the oppressive heat conditions, some of the better players are actually the underagers like South's Archie Van Dyk who's probably best on at this point.

half time
Redlegs 7.5
Panthers 6.5
