It's a trade off.
You can either have a non representative but standardized test done, or a representative test.
With the main important test done on the same day with everyone there, the main testing should be done on an actual gameday surface
it's harder to compare against the state level testing, also means you can compare year to year for to what to expect when they go to AFL level.
If you want to compare them to their peers, well that's what the games are for.
