Everything I’ve read today points to GC trading 7 to Melbourne for Petracca.
How do you anticipate being able to intercept this scenario?

Assuming Oscar Allen gets band 1, GCS will get pick 8 from Saints for Flanders, which is the pick that will reportedly be on traded for Petracca along with a later selection.

7 will be sold for points and hopefully no bids.

Ok I keep forgetting about all the reallocation of the picks with FA
Makes sense now

Do any of the Robey fans have any doubts after seeing his reported combine times?

It's not the type of effort that would see him become undraftable and there are probably some valid reasons for the performance given the injury he carried through the finals, but surely there are some doubts starting to creep in.
Never liked speed
Prefer heroin or cocain

Nope. Even more so after this.

Big tackles, left foot snap goal, smashes two packs as a lead up option and has what another 6-7 chf like leads for hit ups from his backs and mids? Mids don't play forward like that, they’re usually more Degoey/stringer power or Daicos/ashcroft/Rankine smarts and crumbing, but he can play in the Degoey way too at ground level.

He’s so versatile and is one of the youngest in the class. It continues to be a no brainer pick 3 for me.

Made duuuuuuursma his little bitch on quite a few occasions

Yes. He's a handy player in a weak draft. There is no way he'll be in the same league as Lalor, Murphy Reid and others from last year.

The 17yo's that got removed from the pool in 2010 & 2011 are;

GC: Trent McKenzie, Matt Shaw, Brandon Matera, Luke Russell, Tom Nicholls, Mav Weller, Josh Toy, Alex Keath, Jack Hutchins, Taylor Hine, Hayden Jolly & Piers Flanagan.

GWS: Jeremy Cameron, Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel, Jack Hombsch, Tom Bugg, Nathan Wilson, Tim Golds, Sam Darley, Josh Growden, Jarrod Harding, Simon Tunbridge, Gerard Ugle

Outside the 1st 2 for GWS not much else removed from the relative pools. Shiel is the 3rd best player out of the 24 taken lol. Tassie will average out to be 6 from each pool. Don't think there is much to worry about.

Didn’t the 17yo’s have to be born between Jan and April or something to eligible too?

So yeah, our rebuild needs to be done by the end of the 2026 draft.

Luckily, we are fine with our rebuild and will be completed by next year.

2027, all Tassie picks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and the first selection of each subsequent round, plus 17-year-olds

2028, able to select 17-year-olds + picks 5 and 9 and the first selection in each subsequent round, in addition to their natural draft hand

2029, picks 5 and 9 and the first selection in each subsequent round, in addition to their natural draft hand

For us, 2027-2029, will be more about targeting free agents and trading for top-end talent.

TBH that tassie stuff has worked out well for us timing wise, at that stage we will be in play for trades and FA's... and will have plenty of money to spend

I am bit naïve as to how important the differences in time trials translate to on field performance. When I think of his results this way: 2km being ~20 seconds slower than 1st & 20m sprint being ~ .2 seconds slower than first; then it doesn't seem like such a risk for a dynamic power player like this kid who has started late in his footy journey and by some reports has also had some sort of shoulder injury. Interested in other thoughts

like others have said, the tests they do dont tell the full story

hes a big guy, starting from zero its going to take a bit to get to top speed..... for me its more important how well he accelerates from 20% to 100% which going off clips he does very well
