Well if they want pick 3 and Blair has said it has to be a deal in our favor and our preference is next years draft.
What combo do you see that would have us tempted?
I would hold.

I don’t rate this draft and wouldn’t value any pick beyond 15 in the open draft this year.

So really it means only Essendon and Carlton (after the Curnow compo) are in play.

I think we hold. And I think the Tigers will too.

Not often you get the chance to pick from the top of the draft, and we shouldn’t forgo this position.

Yes, on the surface it’s a poor deal. History tells you it isn’t. Of course there’s nuances, but on average pick-3 on its own has been on par with 5-6 combined. If there’s a ‘clear’ top-4 then that sort of deal makes even more sense.
Tell me where in ‘history’ a 2 pick upgrade for a F1 that’s likely to be top 5 has ended up a good deal.

I’ll wait.

Think Blair has only one number when it comes to 3 and thats F1.
Weather that's Ess or even Carl that's the price.
If its 2 in the top 5 next year it's a bigger win thanks too norf.

Do yourself and watch the movie
It’s Jim Carrey at his best
Watched with my 4yo on weekend. Forgot he got sucked off in first 10 mins.

"Daaaaaddd whys he taking his pants off?"

How did you explain Captain Winky at the end or did you not make it that far?😅

Did you follow it up with American Pie?

Farqen 4 🤣

A better way of looking at it would be if the shoe was on the other foot and we had 5 and 6 and Ess had 3 and 4.

Would you upgrade two spots from 5 to 3 and grab the Bombers F2 but also give away our F1?

They’d be a riot at Punt Road if that occurred.
so we should be a doormat because??

?
may as well keep our picks

I am unsure about whether these numbers have been assessed for outcome efficacy. Does coming a speed test 0.1- 0.2 sec slower mean anything? Has anyone done a categorical analysis of these numbers and how they lead to number of games played, player ratings, possessions gained etc etc. If not the figures are absolutely meaningless. If so, can someone quote the data.

If, as we all suspect, we rate next years draft a ways ahead of this years, then you’d imagine pick 3 for bombers F1 straight up wouldn’t be far off the mark. But you’d suspect bombers would rate the drafts similarly, and be well aware they’re likely giving up a top 5 pick in a stronger draft. They’d have to really like a specific player to do the trade.

If you go back and look at the top 10 best performers at the combine over the past 5 years, it's a long list of average to nothing players.

Maybe I skimmed through them too quickly but I couldn't see a link between strong combine results (multiple top 10 finishes) and being one of the better players to come from that particular draft

I am thinking out loud

should we get involved in the Curnow trade from CFC to Sydney??

might not happen, of course it might not.

What would CFC want???

We could offer our future first get Swans first and De Kooning compo that CFC will lose in a match, they will need a later first to match for Dean??? we could give CFC more futures, get Gold Coasts picks if not used for Petracca, Gold Coast will need something to match though

just thinking our future first does it help them with walker???

not sure what we would need if we want to decide to match for Tanner Armstrong. don't think Armstrong near Walker in terms of credentials, does this mean we need a later future first in 2026 draft at some point???

curfew to Swans, our future first to CFC and obviously a bit more added here and there

tanner armstrong is 176cm, we will not be needing a top first round draft pick for him, aka 1-5, even if he wins a rising star, we are here to win premierships or should be. might not even need a first rounder and I doubt he is Shai Bolton or even Taj Hotton
just on this trade scenario so currently four. clubs involved, RFC, Melbourne, Suns and CFC

RFC future first 2026 to CFC

RFC get 7(via Gold Coast) and 11(via Swans) in this draft 2025

Curnow goes to Swans

Petracca goes to Suns

Melbourne get 8(Gold Coast) and 10( de koning compo) 2025

Suns would want something more plus a few steak and knives here and there for some other clubs?

maybe pick 22 from CFC to Suns

future first from Swans to CFC. is that close??? Melbourne have to cough up more maybe pick 24 from Melbourne to Suns maybe???

who would be the big winners or losers in this trade??

All this talk of us trading down but I just can't see it. We will take the two highest talent kids that we can this year I think. Don't think the club risks that. Like others I think WC take Duursma and CDT. I would then go for a combination of Robey, Cumming, Grjl and X Taylor myself. I think in that order. Sharp I don't think has the ceiling of the others. I respect what he's done but look at how many inside mids are being let go for peanuts or pushed aside. The writing is on the wall for the pure inside mids ATM.
I think your correct.

Go lie down magic, take one of your little green pills and sleep. Your imagination is running wild. Why would Richmond give up a future round 1 pick in a strong draft for these 2 picks in a shit draft? You are deluded. Are you hearing voices again?
