Saw Blair chubbing up over a Robey master-class

secret smell GIF
That was Dovaston

I'm not saying that we're inflexible to new data, just that the club may not be as keen on Robey as some here appear to be, where it seems to be Robey or bust.

That’s a contradiction. You’re saying the club isn’t inflexible, but then reckon they might not be keen on Robey because they don’t have years of notes on him. That’s exactly what being inflexible is, ignoring what he’s doing now because he wasn’t on the radar at 15.

I was all in on Robey and his potential ceiling, has some real X-Factor about him... but have cooled lately after hearing some concerning things. Will see how it plays out.

I didn't say not keen, just that they may not be AS KEEN as some here are.

I know what you said, RT, that they might not be as keen. But that’s still my point. If the reason they’re dialling down their interest is because Robey doesn’t have years of data in the file, then they’re letting old info dictate the call and not fully judging what he’s doing now. That’s exactly the kind of inflexibility I’m talking about, if new performances don’t shift the view, what’s the point of watching him?

I get it if they want to use old data to seperate two players like Grlj and XT.
But letting it drag down their judgement of Robey’s potential because the data isn’t there means they’re overlooking what he’s actually producing right now.

His run of games in the 2nd half of this season has thrust his name into calculations, but surely you'd be hoping that the club is asking the questions as to why this hadn't been happening earlier and just how much genuine improvement is left in him? You'd hate to have the club simply just say well this kid has come from nowhere and become a must have no matter what. That is irresponsible and stupid recruiting and we're a lot smarter than that based on our last few years of drafting.

Let's just say there might be a reason behind his meteoric rise up the draft rankings... pre Eastern Ranges days and how he became to be noticed suddenly.

Read between the lines and you'll get where I'm coming from.

I like the kid a lot, impressed me when I watched the Coates league GF at Ikon Park, but the rumours I'm hearing are red flags in my book.

a jump in height from 176cm or so to 192cm would make a massive difference ion a footy field in terms of effect and roles and cause and effect in terms of presence as a competitor and access to the ball as well

but I know nothing about him personally, has he been on the juice or is he a legitimate good boy?? no idea

Smillie played for Eastern ranges last year, I am sure the club and our networks could find some things out

not suggesting anything untoward but the would be mechanisms for checks and balances

So more vagueposting? Right.

RT, you’re shifting the posts here. Whether the club digs into why his improvement came late is one thing, and obviously they should, plus we are all aware growing 20cm in hurry was a big part of that.

But that’s not the same as being less keen because he doesn’t have a junior file from age 15. That’s exactly the kind of inflexibility Im talking about letting the absence of old data drag down the judgement of what he’s producing right now.

omg, what traits did C Ellis have???

if you think C Ellis had wonderful traits can everyone play AFL??

if you want to look at past posts I wanted the backman who played for Adelaide before being traded to Melbourne and won a premiership with them picked after Ellis, far better mark than Ellis , lol

Are you trying to suggest C Ellis passed on kicking/marking/handball traits and getting it??

Robey has superior physicals than Grj despite Grj having better 2km and 20metre sprint times
C Ellis was literally drafted on his elite ability to dispose of the football.
You’re a peanut haha
