Not overrated ... Duursma and CDT would have gone in the 20s .... Grjl would have gone in the 30s ... and we will take him in the Top5 this year ...
if anyone takes Grji in the top 10, let alone top 5, this year they need their head read

Duursma, Sharp, Cummings and Robey have shown more than Smillie last year pre-draft. I would pick them before Langford as well to be honest

Last years draft at the top end was mainly Lalor or FOS

there was a bit of speculation about them. Duursma, Cummings, Robey and Sharp is not that dissimilar

This is the best possible endorsement for us to take Grill.

FOS is the best endorsement not to pick Griji.

can get a Griji in any draft for the last 15 years mostly so why bother this year, let alone a top pick, is batshit crazy?

at least FOS ticked other boxes

this is the point with Robey, Sharp, Cummings and Duursma, they tick other boxes and CDT is the sky high punt

the point is Robey, Sharp, Cummings and Duursma, none of them are Smillie so no fear of any clash and they have superior versatility with arguable more defined midfield roles, less inbetweener risk to

I could not even remember Jagga Smith Jagga Smith was picked at 3. I would pick CDT, Cummings, Duursma, Robey and Sharp ahead of Jagga every day of the week

Whatever Magic ... Jagga Smith did his ACL in February ... that is why he didn't make an impact this year but you clearly don't know this

clearly haven't watched Grjl play ... he is nothing like FOS ... he is an aggressive tackling machine as well as the only player to go under both 6 minutes and 3s for the 2km and 20m in the last 3 combines.

Bombers clearly trying to keep Merrett by demonstrating they are hell bent on getting better now

We should take advantage of this ... would they go for pick 3, 4 and Sonsie for 5,6 and their F1?

How is Grill's testing compared to Rioli?

Is pick 33 in Latrelle Pickett territory?
Grjl was quicker over 20m .... Maurice Rioli ran 2.98s and Grjl 2.92s and Daniel Rioli was faster than both with 2.89s

Both Rioli's did the YoYo rather than the 2km in their Combine year.

You are right though ... Grjl and Dan Rioli are very similar athletes.

BOMBERS TARGET BOLD PICK SWAP

ESSENDON has made contact with West Coast around an ambitious play for the No.1 pick, with the club also reaching out to Richmond as it attempts to climb higher up the draft order.

Free agency compensation for Sam Draper has armed the Bombers with a strong draft hand that currently features the No.4, 5, 20, 26 and 29 selections, but Brad Scott's side is hopeful of surging even higher up the board.

West Coast is expected to land the No.1 and No.2 picks when a free agency deal for Oscar Allen is lodged, while Richmond will then have the No.3 and No.4 selections to leave Essendon with the No.5 and No.6 picks.

But the Bombers are determined to get higher up the draft order, with an eye on potentially securing either Gippsland Power utility Willem Duursma or Calder Cannons tall Cooper Duff-Tytler.

very aware Jagga did his acl

Bombers trying to go up. because the players in that range are that much better and trying to con others to trade down

who cares about quicker over 20m, it is only one aspect, there are other far more important attributes that are absent

speed is handy but it is not everything

not only that there are a few posters on here with a few posts that come in every year around trade draft time trying to create a narrative to sabotage supporters and others with BS. happens every year.

almost every year the year is a crap draft until it is not, although last year was an exception, especially for depth

I have never mentioned grji and either Rioli in the same sentence, but pretty obvious you are desperate to create something

usually there is a propaganda campaign online and so forth to suit any agenda Essendon may have strangely enough. not suggesting anything sinister but I think it is part of the business model for some and some comments I take with a grain of salt naturally

does essendon desperately wanting to trade ahead of us indicate we're giving other clubs the impression were taking CDT? dons are literally right after our picks and we stocked up on talls last year, strong chance he gets through to them no fuss. whats the play here?
they want two of duursma, cdt and robey

Deal for pick 2 coming up I’d say.

Who they want?
Man I’m gonna flip if it’s Robey

They want Duursma. And they are after pick one for him.

Don’t think you will pick CDT either so he’ll slide to us. Well take him and Robey.

You’ll take one of Sharp/Cumming at 2

They have to offer 5,6 for 1. Even then I don’t think we’ll give up Duursma.

2,13,34 for 5,6,21 I’d do for pick 2. I’m confident they’ll take CDT.

Agreed. If we don’t trade it I hope we take Sharp or Cumming at 2.

The 17yo's that got removed from the pool in 2010 & 2011 are;

GC: Trent McKenzie, Matt Shaw, Brandon Matera, Luke Russell, Tom Nicholls, Mav Weller, Josh Toy, Alex Keath, Jack Hutchins, Taylor Hine, Hayden Jolly & Piers Flanagan.

GWS: Jeremy Cameron, Adam Treloar, Dylan Shiel, Jack Hombsch, Tom Bugg, Nathan Wilson, Tim Golds, Sam Darley, Josh Growden, Jarrod Harding, Simon Tunbridge, Gerard Ugle

Outside the 1st 2 for GWS not much else removed from the relative pools. Shiel is the 3rd best player out of the 24 taken lol. Tassie will average out to be 6 from each pool. Don't think there is much to worry about.
Theres a lot of unfounded panic about Tassie’s entry IMO. It’s not like they get picks 1 to 10 for 2-years.

Let’s say normally you’d get pick-1. Well, now you get 2. Normally 3… now 5. Normally 9… now 15. And so on …. It’s not like you lose your pick or drop 20 places.

It’s not ideal, but it’s not impossible to rebuild … a certain team did it fairly well with TWO expansion teams..
