Retschko is our Grij

some are pumping up Grij to try and get Cumming with a slightly later pick IMO

Retschko, similar enduro, is he slightly slower?? who cares... commentary seems to suggest better mark

If Grij does not get picked up by us, and I hope it is just talk., love to see where he does in fact land after us

If you look at Cumming he is the player Hobbs is not.

So in reverse just say RFC pick Cummings and Sharp. Who would Essendon take???

well then that gets interesting. Would they take Taylor, or Greeves, they have plenty of lighter types, I would be surprised they take Grij. They could take Robey for sure
Might turn out that the list bosses and recruiting guys rate the ceiling of Grilj as higher than a guy they spent pick 99 on...

Was thinking the same, if we missed either, I wS thinking Sharpe... what about you?
My current wish list is:

Cumming
Grlj
Sharp
CDT
Robey
Taylor

I don't think that Retschko and Robey have similar skillsets at all. Retschko has already been tagged as a winger and providing defensive run, endurance is his No.1 wood. Robey is a forward of centre player that impacts the scoreboard and can rotate through the midfield.
I get what you are saying ... one is a forward and one is a wing but I think Michaels point was that both link into chains well and run forward into space naturally.

Retschko both ran through the midfield and impacted the scoreboard for Geelong VFL ... after 12 rounds he was averaging 20 possessions and a goal a game with strong contested marking in the forward line being a highlight.

Actually Patrick's weakest area was defensive running tending to run harder forward ... though this reportedly improved as the season went on ... interestingly his scoreboard impact decreased as a result.

With Robey ... I feel he will be either boom or bust and with the RFC drafting philosophy under Hartley, when we built our last dynasty, being to select players with a high floor (good kicks, good character, that they are confident are likely to play 200 games) rather than potential superstars ... he may just not end up as high on our draft board as other clubs.

maybe, maybe not

I am sure when they got Retschko they rated him higher than 99.

that is the point I cannot see how Grij is value at a higher pick, a lower pick maybe

I cannot speak for others obviously but if I have to pick between Sharp and what he has done and Grij, it is Sharp every time, otherwise throw champs form out the window as well as other deeds

It is not like Grij is a great kick or great mark either. there are plenty of athletes that never fired a shot like David Gourdis

See NHH is another I would pick ahead of Grj on output everyday of the week

At least with Josh Lindsay they say his elite trait is kicking, what is Grj elite footy trait?? He might make it, might improve, who knows, good luck to him, but I cannot understand any justification for a very high pick

Appreciate the kind words!

Scooter and Jepp were amazing to chat to on all things draft! Scooter is nailing everything draft, getting Sullivan Robey on was elite!

I'm actually hoping to get them both on for a live to go through their mock drafts at some stage too!
Name of podcast 🙏 please

So Cal Twoomby has Grij at 13 and you have him at 3?
Cal has changed his ranking post combine and has Grjl inside the Top10 (including academy). ESPN latest has Robey Grjl and Cumming at 8,9 and 10 respectively which is 5,6,7 removing academy boys
