FOLL: T.Nankervis, T.Taranto, J.Hopper
I/C: L.Trainor, J.Smillie, J.Clarke, S.Campbell, H.Armstrong

Depth: R.Mansell, M.Rioli, T.Sonsie, T.Dow, T.Sims, J.Gibcus
Ins: Patrick Retschko (Geelong)
Outs: Tylar Young (West Coast), Jacob Bauer (delisted), Jacob Blight (delisted), Mate Colina (delisted), Jacob Koschitzke (delisted), [PLAYERCARD]Kamdyn McIntosh[/PLAYERCARD] (delisted)

2025 draft picks: 3, 4, 38
The Tigers backed in their youth rather than targeting free agents this off-season, but landed Patrick Retschko from Geelong for a late pick. Top-10 draftee Josh Smillie is the only of last year’s monster draft haul to not debut last season, but a full summer would have him ready to go. The young core is here, and will be complemented in November with two elite talents with the No.3 and No.4 draft picks.

On the proviso that the Eagles pick as many expect Duursma and CDT, what two combo options would you like at our picks 3 & 4

I like Option 1 personally, Robey, the big-bodied mid who can also roll forward. Grjl a mid who is quick, attacks the contest hard and can start as a hard-running defender.

Second would be Option 5, Sharp, who is a bit undervalued on here. He is a hard-working mid with good leadership qualities. I have Grjl in both combos provides another element to the midfield who can also play as a defender.

1. Robey & Grjl
2. Robey & Sharp
3. Robey & Cumming
4. Robey & Taylor
5. Sharp & Grjl
6. Sharp & Cumming
7. Sharp & Taylor
8. Taylor & Grjl
9. Taylor & Cumming
10. Grjl & Cumming
Option 1 and 3 would be my preferences I think at this stage..sharp I wouldn't take in the top ten so not in my calculations.

Judson Clarke has recovered from his 3rd ACL pretty quickly... Think Mansell will be in his spot.
I think Seth Campbell plays in front of Steely Green
Think Gibcus plays in front of anyone you want (assuming he is fit)
No second ruck in that team either unless Balta is going to ruck from CHB (he won't).
I think Retschko will get game time in 2026... is he going to be a starter or best 23... not yet convinced but he'll get an opportunity.

If we start next season with Prestia, hopper, Taranto starting onball then Yze has no idea.

I think I like Cumming most after Robey
Cumming has the potential to be the best player in this draft. It'll be interesting to see how we rank these players. If WC take CDT and Duursma it'll leave us with Cumming, Robey, Grlj, Sharp. I'd personally like to see us take Cumming at 3 leave Robey on the board and if Essendon blow their top for him slide back and pick up another 1st round pick.

I think Robey and Cumming are my two favourite mids after Duursma. Looking at our young mids in Lalor, Smillie, Hotton and you could maybe add Macauliffe to the list, we need running power (the transition mid) which makes me think if we take Robey we should probably pair him with Grjl - that's if they are pretty similar in the club's rankings.

Cumming also has similar attributes with speed and endurance. Could also be that transition type mid or high half forward.

Grlj's contested game concerns me quite a bit. Doesn't win the ball on the inside much, getting most of his disposals in chains on the outside. Might struggle to translate his game to a midfield role at AFL level, and doesn't really have a game built for finals footy.

Yeah we will need some smaller mids. Cummings, Kellaway and Retschko should be pretty handy. Another one next year. Robey will fit in well :D

Originally I had Cumming and Lindsay. But bolter Robey has changed my thoughts

Current Depth Chart heading into the draft

Thought this would be a handy resource for posters when looking at areas we need to address heading into the draft. I've still got Dow and Sonsie on the chart as they are both technically still Richmond players.

Looking at this we clearly need ruck and midfield depth. Even though our midfield look deep on paper Prestia is likely in his last year and Dow & Sonsie could be delisted, which certainly opens up some spots for the younger players to push themselves into. The favourite midfield option at the moment seems to be Robey, with Grlj & Cumming next in line, followed by Sharp. Any combination of the 4 would certainly add to our midfield group. With Kellaway another midfield option to possibly join us later in the draft we will definitely be covered in the midfield.

Taking CDT at 3 or 4 if he is on the board would certainly help our ruck depth but the club may still be thinking that Ryan(despite the thoughts of the majority of the posters here) is next in line with Sims likely to play as a ruck/forward moving forward as the 2nd ruck, then there is OHB who by all reports was close to a debut towards the end of the 2024 season. It's certainly going to be an interesting decision for Hartley & Geischen come draft night if WCE overlook him.

Another option that is much discussed on here is the possibility of trading back and acquiring more picks later in the first round, which would allow us to bring in even more talent to keep building up the depth of young talent we have on our list, but that would definitely require the delisting on Dow and/or Sonsie to accommodate that plan of attack.

noobermensch are there any Grlj playing midfield games you could clip? Or did his coach never really give him the opportunity?
