Unfortunately not all the top end talent tested at combine due to a mix of injuries and illness. Of those that did test Grlj didn't do his chances of going inside the top 5 any harm showcasing his endurance(2nd) and speed (9th in 20m). Dovaston & the Taylors showcased their short burst power with all 3 at the top of the agility rankings. Some questions were raised around everyones favourite kid in Robey who had slow times in both the 2km (6:45) & 20m sprint (3.118 sec).

Sam Grlj was super impressive.

Everyone raved how dynamic and athletic Jagga Smith was last year but Grlj has out tested him.

Jagga 20m:3.038
Grlj 20m: 2.926
(Zac Butters 3.015, Darcy Jones 2.912, Max Holmes 2.801)

Jagga 2km: 6:26
Grlj: 5:59 (This would have been the best time in last years combine)

Bit worried we're going to pass up Sully after Blairs comments on the need for speed....

Blair could be holding 7-2 off suit against your pocket aces and he'd get you to fold I reckon.

Was Blair’s presser actually only 1 and a bit minutes?? Or is roar vision messing with me?
He seems to have had a longer a chat with Twomey which is in the Update thread.

You got the other 2 I mentioned for the speed and breaking lines. His the X factor type of player breake a game open in 5 minutes. Got some Dusty traits.
If Robey gets drafted by us he has Dusty traits, if he gets picked by anyone else this board will rate him as Temu Stringer

Do we just take grill at 4 even if he's not rated at that position?

if we rate him there then yes. Cal has had him at 8, 7, and 9 in the open pool.

It’s hardly a reach, he was excellent at vfl level and was oakleighs best player this year until he got injured half way through wildcard. His champs weren’t great but find me someone not named Sharp, Duursma or Greeves who had a consistent and good champs.

Do any of the Robey fans have any doubts after seeing his reported combine times?

It's not the type of effort that would see him become undraftable and there are probably some valid reasons for the performance given the injury he carried through the finals, but surely there are some doubts starting to creep in.

Nope. Even more so after this.

Big tackles, left foot snap goal, smashes two packs as a lead up option and has what another 6-7 chf like leads for hit ups from his backs and mids? Mids don't play forward like that, they’re usually more Degoey/stringer power or Daicos/ashcroft/Rankine smarts and crumbing, but he can play in the Degoey way too at ground level.

He’s so versatile and is one of the youngest in the class. It continues to be a no brainer pick 3 for me.
