• Eagles (or a team trading up for one of the Eagles picks) takes Robey before we have a chance, OR
• He’s on the board but we don’t take him with either 3 or 4, leaving him for the Bombers (poor kid!)

I know we’ve heard reference to “high ceiling” players out of the club, but a lot of other little pieces of info that indicate we like Robey, but not a pick 3/4 level of like.

I’m preparing myself mentally.

I'd say more if we passed on him than another club trading up and grabbing him, because that's out of our control.

What info? If we like high ceiling he’s at the pointy end of draft for that.

Also not picking him is worse than a team trading up.

Dan Annable and Zeke Uwland I believe have become extremely overrated by so called experts out there.

Annable in particular is actually pretty poor by foot and has shown very little in the way of versatility. He’s a pretty low-damage accumulator with low end speed. If he were to be in the open draft I would doubt teams would be rating his as high. Great character etc etc but as a match winner/high ceiling type of player he’s pretty low end.

Zeke Uwland is a very nice left footed kick, but is very undersized and another one who doesn’t have much in terms of speed. I also think he isn’t the best kick in the draft.

I’m not sure there’s anyone else jumping out at 3/4 that’s demanding selection before Robey.
I mean I’d love Cumming and/or Grlj but if we split pick 4 for example and missed one of them then you could look at
Plan B. But don’t know that there’s a plan B if you don’t pick Robey

That's not a dumb decision, it's plain irresponsible and there isn't a list manager alive that would make that deal unless we were to offer pick 3 & F1 for 5 & 6. If Rosa gave up 5 & 6 for 3 and a F2 & F3 he may as well update his resume at the same time because he wouldn't be their list manager much longer after that.

The only way the makes sense is if this draft is dramatically different in terms of the top end talent to next years draft.

A more probable pick swap if both parties were in contact on draft night would be their pick 5 and Draper end of first round pick for our pick 3 or 4.

But, if we have Robey in our sights at pick 3, then we keep our picks.

I am always happy to hear others' opinions, as well as all the good folks on BF and PRE.

Jordan from centre half bench, he says bombers from reports, rumours want Robey and could well offer us picks 5 and 6 for our pick 3 and picks going back.

Jordan says if i were Richmond, i would decline it as he thinks Robey will be a star.

I like Robey too and hope we draft him and for our 2nd pick, any of sharp, cumming and Grjl
If we do happen to split pick 3, this can only happen if Robey isnt on our radar, if he is, then no way, no deal.

If we keep 3 and decide to split Pick 4, it would have to seriously advantage us or again no deal.

What are everyone's thoughts on this if picks 5 and 6 were offered for our pick 3?

If we had to give something back, I'd say F3 only. If they want pick 3 so much, then pay up and don't expect a lot back, just like North did, giving us their F1.

That's the point, it has the same chance of happening as the suggestion that we would land picks 5 & 6 from Essendon for pick 3 this year and 20 & 38 in 2026, which have every chance of becoming a mid 20s & mid 40s pick after compo & bid matching happens.

Just keep it simple, take picks 3 & 4 to the draft, hopefully a pick in the 30-40 range from WCE for Young and take the 3 kids we rank the highest at each pick. Match a later bid for Kellaway if it comes or get to take him as a rookie should it pan out.

Thinks last years trade fest has got people thinking that it should happen every year.
