I'm keen on LeRay with the Young pick. As long as we think he can build a tank he has all the tools.

Take Lindsay at 4 and we will have an elite cricket teamI'm keen on LeRay with the Young pick. As long as we think he can build a tank he has all the tools.
Not sure why but I’m thinking WCE take Duursma and Sharp? Both should be 200+ gamers and safe midfield optionsReckon if Cal's rankings are relatively accurate (they weren't anywhere really near it at this point last year lol) you could throw a blanket over the open pool guys from XT to Grlj (maybe Farrow too) and we can afford to pick the guy in this group that fits our needs best at pick 4.
Pick 3 will just be whoever WC don't take out of Robey & CDT.

Too much pepper?Mock Drafts are like Mock Cocktails !
He's a good fit for them, every team has 1 of those slow inside mids to win the footy but too much smoke that they're going for the high upside guys. Not sure why but I’m thinking WCE take Duursma and Sharp? Both should be 200+ gamers and safe midfield options
Ok I'll ask it another way.
Who are the Vlastuin and Broad replacements?
does your 11 or 12 players include Ross / Smith and Ralphsmith cause in all reality none of those are likely.
XT may not be the number 1 need, but to dismiss him as a possible need based on future proofing is bizarre to be honest.
He really is a midfielder, not a ruckman, probably just had to play ruck his whole life because he was the tallest kid.I reckon the talk about CDT not being a good enough tap ruckman to be a fulltime ruck is overdone.
The bloke is 201cm and probably still growing. He can improve his ruck craft, while still having amazing fundamental football skills in place.
It's just that he's so quick and good at ground level that people are forgetting the size of him
it makes too much sense. 100% they take the consensus top player in durrrsma we all know that but hes not going to be a pillar of the team, they desperately need a reliable contested player that just cranks out possessions and tackles hard to build upon. so theyll probably take robey. Not sure why but I’m thinking WCE take Duursma and Sharp? Those two fit so well with Harley Reid and both ready to play Round 1 .... though probably could trade Pick2 to Melbourne or Essendon for 2 picks and snap up both Sharp and SchubertNot sure why but I’m thinking WCE take Duursma and Sharp? Both should be 200+ gamers and safe midfield options
Yerp. Brown and Trainor replace Vlaustin and Broad.Ok I'll ask it another way.

if he could work on his glovework he's basically nank but way faster and gets involved more as a midfielder. i'd take supernank in a shit draft any day.He really is a midfielder, not a ruckman, probably just had to play ruck his whole life because he was the tallest kid.
Ralphy, Ross and Juddy.
cmon man you don't really believe that do you? You're just winding me up now.
Ralphy at an absolute stretch, maybe.
Short isn't far off retiring either.
Tresize a tick. I like what he brings.
whens the last time we saw a team pass in the thirties, could be this year.that phantom guide is a pretty big reminder of how weak/thin this years draft is, 9 of the top 30 are already club tied and Barker despite his ACL injury is still pick 17 in the open draft.
Maybe we end up taking a Leon Kickett or Louis Emmett with pick 38 if Barker is still going that early

I don't think there's a world where Eagles bid on Dean at #2. They've just traded for Young and Starcevich as permanent defenders. They've got Ginbey (who may move to another role). Then there's Brock, Edwards, McCarthy and Maric. They've actually now got some talent and a bit of depth on that line.If Carlton did not match a bid for Dean, then guys like Walker next year would doubt the viability of nominating the blues. They’ll match if a bid comes early.
Its just a ploy by West Coast. They want to have an "unspoken" agreement with Carlton to not bid at 2, while also giving Carlton a few more points for matching Ison. GWS are keen on Farrow from what I hear, so West Coast want to jump ahead of that.I don't think there's a world where Eagles bid on Dean at #2. They will partner Duursma with someone who is going to be a CBA player, whether it be CDT as a ruck/mid or Robey, Sharp etc... they'll also potentially bid on midfielder Uwland.
If the Blues didn't match and the Eagles got Duursma and Dean, leaving the Tigers to get CDT and Robey, they might burn Optus stadium to the ground.
Doesn't mean the Blues won't be spooked into acting on the threat, but an Eagles bid on Dean at #2 is 100-1 IMO.
I am not engaging our recruiters, I am engaging other commentators not leaving it to our recruiters!!!The important thing is that our recruiters have far more information than a few YouTube highlights to go on. They've been following many of these kids for up to 4 years. They have tons of statistics and rankings to assist them plus first hand assessments.
You keep on asking for evidence all of us cannot get. You need to swallow a chill pill and leave it to people that know infinitely more than you or any other poster here.
WC better get 9 rather than 11. Otherwise GWS could do 12 & 35 and jump WCIts just a ploy by West Coast. Carlton trade 11, 43, 54 to West Coast for 13, 34, 41.
An extra 250ish points for Carlton, West Coast dont bid at 2, and West Coast jump ahead of GWS.

I agree but Lalor and Hotton were are both a match winning archetype whilst Barker is a specialist wingman, who whilst he has desireable traits for that role, will always be more a of role player. I thought cubs would be less inclined to take the risk on someone without that elite upside. I suppose ACL injuries are pretty inconsequential for players these days given adavancements in surgeries and rehab programsLalor was 1 despite being a serious hammy, Hotton was 12 despite an acl. Not sure barker being at 17 indicates much except he is very athletic with upside.
Or maybe he should be just a midfielder??if he could work on his glovework he's basically nank but way faster and gets involved more as a midfielder. i'd take supernank in a shit draft any day.
I wonder if they have times where it is nearly impossible to decide what option is better (in terms of a trade vs not etc.), and if so do they force themselves to come to a consensus, or do they wait and see how it feels on draft night. I would assume the former but who knowsI think Blair and Rhy have mentioned they run through a shit load of different scenarios in their own mock draft discussions in the lead up.
That’s something I want to ask Rhy when I’m in cause that is fascinating to understand how we step though it.
Blair is very calculated with everything he does.
