We had maximum output from TT, Hopper, Prestia, Nank, Broad and Vlaustin. I expect the team we field most weeks next year to be on average younger than last season. Based on that you'd think form will fluctuate more.Why. Lynch hadn't played for 2 years and was pretty scratchy but by the end of the season he was moving much better. He's 32 which for a player that doesn't rely on mobility is not old. Nank is 31 and is the same Nank that has been doing what he does year in year out. Vlastuin is a star and Broad whilst being not so important is still playing well. Short is Short, not vital.
That's about it for old players. Hopper and Tarrato are not old and whilst important will become less so as our developing mids get more game time.
How can we be worse this year when pretty much all our draft picks ranged from not getting on the park to having large chunks of their seasons curtailed by injury, Trainor and Sims the exception.
If we have a decent injury run, which we are overdue, then it could be an exciting year.
He will be that player that gets 25-30 touches a game and kicks goals probably at around 0.8 rate
Im taking that every day of the week

Also, its highlights. Ive seen plenty of videos where he handballs in more in hope than to an actual target (although still much better than NHH, who people seem to love)

That is true, but I think the development of our young players contingent on them not being injured like most were last season might fast track us a little faster than expected, due mainly to the fact that most low draft picks track fairly quickly, especially given the quality we saw last season. We had maximum output from TT, Hopper, Prestia, Nank, Broad and Vlaustin. I expect the team we field most weeks next year to be on average younger than last season. Based on that you'd think form will fluctuate more.
I hope we have a great season but the number of wins/losses aren't important next season as they weren't important last season. Its all about the young players and their continued development.
Paddy Dow?Looks like a current Richmond players brother is about to recruited to Richmond reserves. Then hopefully within a year onto the senior list
Oh yeah![]()

X Taylor is a chance this year. Then if Miller leaves we will acquire a KPD in trade or free agency ourselves. There’ll be loads of first choice KPD’s playing for their second or third clubs in 2026 …. Aliir, Young, Lobb, Howe, Collins, Ratagelea, May, Lever, Battle, Barrass, Keane, Scrimshaw, Silvagni, Logue, McKay.Enjoy the rugby.
Miller is a good chance to be gone as a free agent. He’s unrestricted. If we want a KPD with more than 3/4 years in them once contending, we will need to draft one in the next two years. Else we’ll have a very short window of opportunity.
Really? Compared to Sharp, Grilj has not shown much.I'm all aboard Robey as a must. Id tuned out of Sharp, seems a perfect fit for WC, and not so much us, but geez hes become very underrated.
He elevated his game at Champs and was doing all the things he was being criticised for. No outside game, starting linking up in transition, doesn't hit scoreboard, no problem goes forward and kicks goals. Seemed pretty clear at that stage he shouldn't be there at our pick.
If Sharp was our best mid we would be in trouble. If hes our 3rd to 5th we are flying.
Would be very disappointed to miss on Grlj though, hes such an elite fit for our side. Having gone back and watched a fair bit of Sharp today Id take him over Taylor.
We would need to find another role for McAuliffe though which not sure where else he can play.
We should bid on Dean at pick 3. Carlton will 100% match but at least make them pay more than they thought they would. **** Carlton.X Taylor is a chance this year. I’d say it’s the easiest position to fill from outside the national draft, so I can’t see us trying to draft and develop one this draft or next.
Chris Doerre - Knightmare? That guy doesn't write for ESPN anymore. I wonder why?![]()
so much hinges on whether the big birds take cdt. I reckon this top 4 is like a 90% probability.True Footy mock draft from yesterday has us taking Robey & Grlj with Dursma & CDT at the Eagles....

please show me evidence of his good kicking under pressureBro sharp can definitely kick
If we take a medium defender in XT with a rare as hens teeth top 5 pick then Blair needs to be bulleted. Its key position or mids only with those high picks. Medium defenders particular ones as vanilla as XT are a dime a dozen from Round 2 onwards.![]()

I don't get why everyone is so negative about Taylor. He's got speed, skill and doesn't get beaten in the contest.

Not just a defender either. Has scope to become a Weddle-style wingman or even a mid.
