Well the media team did have the Reece Conca stuff ready to go - even posted a day before the draft (Still don't know which was the biggest mistake - picking Conca or going early with the social media stuffhe said his links are in the richmond social media team. let's assume that's true. how likely do you reckon it is that the guys we pay to put together tiktok videos are privvy to intimate details of our draft strategy?
Think you nailed HammerAssuming this is true, the argument for not taking CDT/Robey and wanting a trade back to 5 would probably be a combination of a couple of things. Again I'm not necessarily agreeing with all this however this is what I think the arguments would be.
Robey's sample size may be too small, if we are lead to believe that clubs watch these kids for anywhere between 2-4yrs, Robeys sample size may just be considered to small and risky (also hasn't been exposed to senior footy only local senior footy) compared to a cumming who is probably not to dissimilar in style to Robey and whilst not completely dominated games like Robey has moved up to the seniors and looked very impressive, just my opinion but if cumming doesn't get injured he is probably clear top 4.
CDT is probably a combination of to many talls? And what position will he actually play and how does he fit in with sims?
If Richmond are taking Sharp its probably because they believe he is the clear best midfielder in the draft, has the junior accolades and good character that has shown improvement throughout the yr over his weaknesses areas of his game.
If you look at it from the perspective of midfielf in 3-5 yrs time Lalor will play close to a 50-50 split fwd/mid (rayner role) probably leaves Sharp and Smillie who whilst similar aren't entirely the same who will be the 2 big mids who can work with the like of hotton and cumming (goal scoring and fast mids).
Also synergy between cumming Sharp and kellaway would help with a go home factor and they have been successful together this yr.

The above were being watched way before last year .The 'lack of sample size' debate around Robey is a bad argument.
We took Hotton last year, as did we take Lalor and Faull who missed long periods of time.
Clearly our recruiters place a high rating on potential upside of draftees.

Would be fair to say that the AFL has spoken to the clubs with the first 12 picks and asked them for a few names they are considering
Based on BigFooty feedback just heard the club has now decided to delist Sonsie but relist him as a rookie. Thoughts?I've got 2 more weeks of avoiding getting banned to make it to draft night. Touch and go I reckon
I’m my own man …. There’s only one me and you’re speaking to him on this account and this account alone!!
Look at Cummings highlights his a game breaker. Thanks for the insight.
I find the last line interesting. We don't think Robey fits our list.
If that's actually true, I'm concerned. We are nowhere near drafting for need over talent. I love Cumming and Sharp but Robey has Danger like match winning ability, you csn never have too many of those types in your team.
Wrapped about the fact we are into Kickett. He's electric and classy.
I'll say it again Sharp has the best natural footy attributes in this draft like it or not great footy smarts. His worked on his game and improved. 2 years in a row the best junior at his level. To much made our of his athleticism. There's something about Sharp I love and am stoked with this "news". Makes sense to bundle the SA boys too. I think Robey lacks footy IQ and may become frustrating to watch. I prefer smart players. There's something special about Sharp. I said it last year about M. Reid and I've got a similar sense about Sharp. The rule changes favour players who "can play" (smart and skilful) even when they lack high end athleticism. Great teams are built around hard work, humbleness and good leadership. You need athleticism but not at the expense of more important things. I think some observers are obsessing too much about "speed and kicking". We need those things obviously but there are so many drafts to come during this build. Problem with this draft is the elite kickers and elite runners have too many genuine drawbacks that make the risk too high (especially in the top 10). I would not take Grlj for example...headless chicken.
I really hope this info is true and thanks for the gossip!
Question for those who don't want Sharp/Cumming...what are your main concerns with these players?
I wouldn't be gambling on high upside players too much in this draft. The question marks are too significant around basically every selection for mine. Not many fully bankable options but the SA boys are up there.
Maybe this comment has already been made, but it’s consistent with the mail tigerbob shared. This is great mail and all...
But it directly contrasts with what Twomey (the only journo who seemingly knows anything) said yesterday.
If I remember correctly, he said Sharp's range begins at Essendon
Who would you take with our two picks?Another factor is it might be great to have three Heeneys, as Dylan Alexander joked recently, but you also have to pay them.
Maybe the recruiters think Robey is Kmart Lalor, as I do.
Robey has a poorly controlled and tentative kick and handball, poor footy IQ. Stay away from the highlights. If you watch every disposal on the footy stuff YouTube channel there sure are a lot of poor decisions and a lack of situational awareness. Grlj is similar. People just get lured in by a physical beast, especially in a shallow draft.
He's made alot of calls Manmilk. As I said, overall highly accurate but not perfect. You have to differentiate his opinions from his mail too.he also said we loved fos than a week later we hated fos. Was also certain 6+11 for 2.
But yeah highly accurate.![]()
If robey doesnt fit the list then neither does sharp(Also if u watch Gettable last week, Robey says tigers were the last team to show interest and my understanding is with Lalor and Smillie we don’t think he fits our list)
Is it a smokescreen? Or is it a double counter bluff?I have emailed this to Rosa, I have told him to not trade pick 5+F2 for 4 for Robey/CDT because you aren't taking them anyway.

Well you can't reveal something if it doesn't exist.I would never reveal my sources
All hail itsallgood and toenail!
Some of you so called superslueths have been outdone. Time to hang up the mothball smelling Tweed jackets.
Out with the old and in with the new!

Well you can't reveal something if it doesn't exist.
I have insider knowledge that Essendon want to trade 6+7 for 3+38 if WCE don't take CDT
(am I doing it right?)
