Don’t really get why speaking to Robey late means anything? It seems to be something bombers posters love to post. Circumstances of only having top 5 picks since June vs Robey not being consider top 5 til late September would be why we talked to him late.

Reckon weve gone cold on Grlj, just like last year with jagga.

Also, re-Robey, it's the fact that we were one of the last to speak to him that causes me concern. However, i still believe Robey & Taylor will be our picks.

X Taylor is not my first choice but I do not understand the angst some have about drafting him. He reads the play superbly and is probably the most hard at the contest of any player in this draft. In a year where there appears to be a distinct lack of star type midfielders it makes some sense to go for a player like him.

does not even flinch going back with the flight, have a look at his marking highlights in noob's highlights video. We don't have that in the backline besides Broad and Vlas

Nothing new, just reiterated that we are probably picking 2 of Robey, Taylor, Cummings and Grilj. Also said a bid at pick 3 for Dean could be a problem for Carlton, they would match it but will probably cost them at least one of their 2 first rounders (maybe both? he didn't really eloborate as to why it is a problem.)

Wonder if we will bid on him to make life hard for them.

I don't think a single rfc fan wouldn't be stoked with drafting the next Vlastuin. If the club thinks he's the man, then so be it. We'll get a gun mid early next year.

Grlj seemed the least likely with Cal saying he could slide to GWS. Cumming could get to Hawks. Sharps draft range starts at Bombers. Reading between the lines it felt like XT and Robey at our picks. Which would be delightful

No. Same old shit. We will bid on a couple of academy kids then pick CDT if Weagles don't, otherwise two of XT, Robey, Cumming and Grlj.

He potentially becomes a very attractive prospect, if the club feels he can become an AFL mid? (If those qualities can transfer to AFL)

I have changed and am happy with potential of Robey & Taylor at our picks. Taylor I feel will be blooded as an outside mid/wing and if not generating results, he easily slots back when Broad goes. Risk yes but wing he could get immediate exposure next year.

Also as much as I hate it, i could accept a radical slide back proposal and give Essendon our picks 3 & 4, if they are utterly dumb desperate. We get back 5 & 6 & 27 & 30 (would be sooo dumb by bombers). We could then give GC 27,30 and 38 for their pick 15 (they get 150-200 extra points than what 15 is worth, 15 is good for us better than those later picks).
Could end in scenario of Cumming, Taylor and maybe a sliding Grlj or a Farrow (fingers crossed but doubt grlj slides to 15). I much prefer we use 3&4

That’s good to know…if XT can develop into a bone fide mid…then that changes things…

There are no elite AFL mids in this draft. None, zero. That's a major reason it's considered such a weak draft.

Everyone parrots "best available" then next breath says "we have to take mids".

Give me an elite flanker over a B-grade mid.

You don't know that. Only father time does.

And yet somehow you reach a conclusion that we should draft a guy whose a half back flanker without any reason (and in any event, is rated behind some mids).

Makes no sense.

Actually I think the other interesting thing he implied a lot was no trading F1s into draft (blues struggling to move pick 9) and in general no trade ups and downs in top 10, wce basically has not entertained offers for 2.

Robey and XT seem to be the two that most often get linked to us. I'd be happy with them.

Would also be pretty happy if we took Cumming with his speed/endurance mix.

Not too keen on Grjl, as I think he's going to struggle to transition to the midfield, as he doesn't win enough contested ball.
