I'm worried essendon will trade up with Gold Coast and get pick 18 for picks 21,27. I know it sounds silly but it gives them three chances right before our first rounders to take players we are into...
Just tell them you're into end of the draft guys and sit back and watch them pick them

Yeah the music thing is weird but hey to each their own. Twomey does get a lot of his draft stuff right from the clubs but he also works harder than most in the media on this stuff and you see him at a lot of junior footy.

Sharp I would think makes sense for the Bombers as a strong inside out mid. If you asked me before this year if Sharp would be there for the Hawks at 10 I would of thought there was no chance. He did little wrong this year too, it is more a sign of how the game is shifting, teams are wanting more pace and spread from their mids to aid in faster transition of the ball. They want guys who work back to help the defense and then spread when their team has the ball.

This is why first touch guys like Sharp and Greeves will slide down the orders in the coming drafts
Having watched a bit of vision of Sharp the comparison to Worpel is way of the mark.. Sharp is a fair bit taller and is a threat inside fwd 50. I don’t think I saw Worpel take an overhead mark inside 50 ever.. His handball in tight is clean and sets team mates up.. Worps was the opposite. Sharp is composed with the ball. I didn’t think Worpel was a bad player but Sharp is an immeasurable upgrade at this position..

Worpel was an AA at the lower level so the comparison to sharp doesn't tell us too much. I'd be just as worried if he turns out like Priddis at AFL level. Never a fan of him especially in the modern game as it is now.
Also , hope Grjl is available at our pick. Has the same animalistic approach as will Day , goes at it 100% all the time and yes, for those interested, he will be a midfielder.
Also, why the **** would saints want to give up their FF for Philippou? Doesn't make sense .

The kid is a Star - there’s no way he’s available at our first pick - if by some miracle he gets through to our first pick and we don’t pick him - well we’ve got plasticine for brains.

He walks into best 22 at any club.

He would be the only player on our list with exquisite foot skills on both pegs - he’s Darren Jarman / Akermanis level on both sides.

He is the best mark in this draft for his size , and the best mark I’ve seen for his size in the last 20 years.

He’s got a tank and he’s also quick.

His movement in traffic is brilliant - with a Darren Jarman sidestep.

and his Footy IQ is off the charts.

He has ZERO deficiencies.

Whichever club picks him up will be dancing with joy. The kid is a triple A class Jet.

Lol mate really just watched some highlights and come to some nig conclusions regarding sharp and Worpel. At this stage there is no guarantee that Sharp is able to step up to play AFL let alone any comparison to Worpel. We will miss him next year

This is the biggest, and most unexpected call I've seen about any draftee in recent years.

I don't think there's been a single person who even believes he's near the same level as his brother, who has also shown very minimal at AFL level in his 3 years on a list.

Do you think Sharp is a consensus top 5-10 pick for no reason at all? Worpel was pick 45..Sharp was dominant at under age level. I’d be pretty surprised if at the end of Sharp’s career he hadn’t eclipsed Worpel.. I’ve got nothing against Worpel but he was let go without a fight for a reason. He also moved to cats on a modest contract for the same reason..

Sharp is exactly the player we NEED, but i doubt he slides to our pick, I'd do cartwheels in celebration if he did though, people didn't like when I pushed Rowell for pick 1 pre draft, he was too vanilla, nothing special to his game high floor low ceiling, these people talk so much shit every year, Rowell wins a brownlow crickets from these frauds, Sharp is the real deal imo.

Pick 5 to 10 plenty havent made it. Plenty 40s and 50s who have played 200 games U dont know until they actually play and watching highlights doesnt really tell u the whole story. Its just the comparison thats unnecessary as u have no idea how he will turn out

There actually seems a possibility grlj gets to us which would be best case scenario. Not sure if he makes it as a mid but if he doesnt there is a serious half back there which we do need once amon and jarman come to the end.

If you have such an issue with the comparison just email Cal Twomey because it was his comment I referenced.
The whole point of the draft is forecasting if a player (none of whom have played at AFL level) will make it at the next level. Some of the players you can say with some confidence will make the level and some not. I’d say Dyson Sharp has the game to be a good player at AFL level..

You're right carry on do ure comparisons in the end what does it matter

Whoa!! Why isn't he regarded as a number one pick? I also rate him but not to this extent. Btw, if he's all that you've described, then why would hawks do that pick trade ? Just get him for ourselves. I wouldn't complain even before your write up.

I think we’ve agreed on something.
It doesn’t mean much at the end of the day.
Hopefully the team we both support gets a couple of good players into the system and the players have long and successful careers with the best team in the land.

I don’t mind the look of Hunter Holmes as a later pick?

He needs a lot of work on his kicking. Some of those ball drops are pure face-palm material. He is running with the ball, then just hold it out in front and makes an aeroplane with his arms. The rest of his game looks okay. I wouldn't be opposed, but not at pick 22.

I'm not sure what the pick numbers will be but my ideal draft picks are the following:

1. Aidan Shubert 198cm Fwd/Lachie Dovaston 177cm small fwd
2. Ollie Greaves 191cm mid/Matt LeRay 189cm mid/wing
3. Riley Onley - 195cm Mid

I would be suprised NHH falls to pick 31, we are expected to take him with our first pick, if you believe that. I would be surprised if we pick lindsay. We are expected to pick M Marsh with our second pick, so that is no surprise. Our original picks in 30 and 40s comes handy as have some real sliders. Nairn at 33 and Greeves at 35

Sorry for dropping in unannounced.

As a Tiges fan, I'm obviously looking at our 1st 2 picks (of which I think Robey and Cumming suit us the most), but if Grlj was still there at your 1st pick, what would the Tiges need to trade for it in your opinions? Clearly our F1 wouldn't be on the table, but I'd say our F2 might be. What else would we need to use to top that up?

My thinking if the Hawks may be willing to consider a trade being as it gives the Hawks more trade capital to go into next years trade period with, obviously Merrett might still want out, there's Butters and I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks had a crack at Noah Anderson a year out from his contract expiring.
Would have to be some sort of f1 projected to be at least top 7 next year imo, doesn’t have to be from richmond

Tsatas has or at least had an awful ball drop as well, if we drafted him we would be betting that we would be able to fix his kicking
