totally agree, that is best way to stay bottom 4, pay premium, only have a few stars, pay them whatever they want. Everyone has their opinion but if possible like we did with battle, amen, get free agents, does not cost you and use draft to get good kids, they do not need to be those demanding $1M a season, but a all round team with enough quality to keep presenting and being a premiership threat. That is why some people here wanted only one first round for a 30 year old, we opted for 3 and even then would have set us back in getting talent, unless we got a whole bunch of picks in 30s and 40s and been lucky or did our homework and got great players.

Price = best left to MM to decide on that.
Cal's Nov phantom is out today. There is not room for concern, we are in for 2 very good players, fingers crossed, first pick we are in for Sharp/Cumming/Grlj/Farrow/Donvaston/Lindsay/Marsh, there will bound to be at least one, possibly 2-3 left on that list that we can choose. With our second Phillipou, Greeves, Barker, Pickett, NHH (most people's favourite), Nairn, again you would think at least or or few still left for our second pick. These are names we have thrown up to fill our needs.

Would love to know how HFC saw Greeves in his time training and the NGA. Surely the preseason stint against listed players is to our advantage.

Definitely seems like Grlj is a reasonable chance to slip to our selection judging by Twomey comments..Reading between the lines Tigers leaning towards Robey and Taylor, Bombers keen on Cumming and Sharp (or Farrow), Demons maybe Sharp/ Farrow and Dovaston… and Blues probably absorbing the Dean pick with their pick 9… Also mentions Grlj some chance to slip to GWS so maybe we don’t take him even if he is available.. I hope we take Grlj or Farrow if they’re there at our pick..The speed of Grlj would really complement our style of play.. I’m hoping for NHH at pick 22 but that’s a stretch..
Don’t really agree.. The rest may just have more gaps in their game they need to work on.. History shows there is an abundance of players picked beyond the top ten that develop into stars of the game.. This draft will be no different..

I don't know about that.
I think it more likely that there are 30 or more players with some AFL traits, but very few elite plsyers.
It is one of those drafts where you might get very similar output out of a player chosen at 10, and one chosen at 25.
This suits us somewhat...

Mitch Marsh at 10 and Rory Wright at 22 would be an excellent hall in this draft.

NHH, Dovaston, Schubert, Lindsay, Farrow all at 11-16. If any of them get picked by pick 8, only then will the likes of Grlj/Cumming/Sharp will slide
Tigers are not trading 3 or even 4 for the excessive 10+22+F1( which was our Zerret offer), so my dreams of 10+22 won't happen. So much for claims of "not great draft" & next years F1 having greater value.
At pick 22, we may have likes of Marsh-Oskar-Jevan-Barker-Pickett who are all rated from 17-28
Would like to see us get a 3rd pick and still hoping atleast GWS feels desperate to jump us and offer their 12+35 for our 10 if they have eye on Dovaston who I have not been as taken in by. Watched him in BoxHill game and he stood out, missed a lot of goals but think will be around avg at AFL level.
Prefer Pickett for Small fwd role or even Kickett with a late pick who is same height as Wiz.
that sucks as our pick 10 will be pushed back to at least 14

I like how it says that Fred Rodriguez has traits like to Xavier Taylor. Since XT has traits like Josh Weddle I guess that Fred is like another Josh Weddle ! We can have two of them !
My heart is set on Grlj and one of Greeves or Onley. Grlj looks adept for the chao hokball style and the other will provide another big body which we seem to be short of
I believe Greeve can make the step up - all the saying he is a man child bully kids at junior level. This may be the case but with the incremental development his physique and skills will be further enhanced (can see skill wise already quite a good player)
