Dunkley, Neale and two father sons - Lions didn't really draft 5 blue chips did they?

Mccluggage was the 3rd pick in the draft. Both Ashcroft's as talents would've been pick 1 if they didn't luck out on father son.

So yes the point I was making is still relevant.

Greeves was one of the standout performers for the AFL Academy, managing the step up to playing against VFL opposition in style. His powerful stoppage game was just as effective against the bigger bodies of the Tigers players, and he showed an improved desire for applying defensive pressure, although his disposal let him down again at times here. He had a fun personal duel in the first half against his Eastern teammate of last year in Josh Smillie with the two of them bashing into each other whenever the opportunity allowed.

Found a lot of the ball and looked physically up to the standard but he absolutely butchered the pill

West Coast would have absolutely no interest in CDT

If they have 2 picks they would go for Curtain / Rodriguez as WA top end talent
Or the best mids in the draft
You’re right, their ruck stocks are fine with Bailey Williams and Matt Flynn

Greeves very exciting athletically, looks great at stoppage with his power and agility. Just needs to tidy up the finishing. Think he's clubhouse leader for us.

Grlj the other i like assuming he puts a good midfield season together.

Is Greeves normally a better kick? Has a nice action and took a couple of kick outs which suggests they rate his ball use? Unless it was right place right time.
Can be lackadaisical at times but usually solid. Always hard to tell conditions on these open grounds for skills.

haven't watched the highlights yet but if the kickouts were all in the last qtr then i think it was just right place right time for him. he was playing back there, but to me it looked like he just wanted to get the ball moving fast in order to try and win the game, which i rate

I watched a lot of Ollie last year and I had kicking efficiency as a watch for him entering the season. As you say his kicking action is solid, and he can execute some high level stuff at times but then miss kicks he simply shouldn't be missing.

Hopefully he fits into the "can be tidied up" category as opposed to "can't kick".

Duursma does not look at all like a pick 1 contender.
I don't think you can judge him on that game in any way he very much sacrificed himself for the team.

The academy team was horribly constructed, almost entirely comprised of key forwards and midfielders. So Duursma was forced to play as a key defender for most of the game, which he has played before but is a position he hasn't really played for the last year or more.

His disposal was even worse than I thought watching the game.
