Think your being a tad harsh on Smith. Hasn't done much wrong IMO. Missed his entire first year due to injury.

Smith won't be cut.
He plays the easiest position on the field, and I'm yet to see an AFL player there.

Hopefully by season's end he's proven me wrong.

Dow, Sonsie and McIntosh are near certainties to be delisted/ retire imo. I think Bauer is in trouble as well if he doesn’t show something at afl level. All would've been on the list for 4 or more years which is enough time to make a call. Green, Smith and Young are probably next in Line but they haven’t been on the list as long as the others. I’d keep Prestia around as we are thin on legitimate leaders, and even if he doesn’t play he can be a coach that we pay via the TPP since we have so much excess. We will probably take two in the ND, f/s Kellaway then get a rookie or two

Is it worth using an early pick on a ruckman like Louis Emmett or Cooper Duff-Tytler . I don’t rate ruckmen that highly generally, the exception would be if they are a great contested mark.I am would usually be against using early picks on a ruckman but it makes a lot of sense for us this year given our ruck stocks, nanks age and the benefit of having 2 early picks?

whats with all the kids with hyphen names these days!
Women staying with their maiden names after getting married.
Hyphenating their kids' names with dad and mum.

Due to missing season one whilst on the list, he is basically a second year player. Has very good speed, something we sadly lack. I'd like to see smith with 10 - 12 games this year so we can make an informed decision based on senior appearances. I'm hoping it is a bit of a breakout year for him.

I know the how...

but I don't get the sudden trend...

Pick a surname and be done with it (that could be the mums for the record)...
what happens in 20 years when two hyphen kids get married, going to have 4 last names??

I'm just waiting for a hyphen where the acronym is rude. We might have to wait for the triple barrel names with 4 letter hyphens before we get there, but I'd accept something like a GFY.
If only Denver Grainger-Barrass were named Adam.

CDT playing a solid game in tough conditions. Given the rain his kicks were mostly attempts to take as much territory as possible and not always constructive, but he presented well, competed hard in the ruck and his follow up work at ground level was excellent as is typical for him.

Very interesting prospect.

If they aren't playing regular AFL footy by the end of the year, I would cut all three. Bauer especially is into his fourth season now.
That's cutting way too deep, we can't be drafting 7 18 year olds every year. And really it's Bauer's third season given he was a midseason pickup.

6 or 7 would be OK. You have to keep building for 2027-8 onwards and guys out there aren't up to it or on their last legs.

Retire :-
Prestia
McIntosh
Lynch

Delist/trade:-
Dow
Sonsie
One of the least progressed key forward out of Gray, Fawcett or Bauer (for list balance - we still would have 6 key forwards - two of these plus Lefau, Armstrong, Faull, Sims, which is plenty). You could even delist another.

Picks:-
Dyson Sharp
Fred Rodriguez
Kellaway

Plus 2 free agents and a rookie promotion.

If we’re able to get 2 top 4 picks, I would take best available number 1, then look at trading say pick 2/3/4 (NM pick) for say picks 6/12. So I would be aiming for a trade with GC or Essendon.

Pick 1 - Sharp or Rodriguez

Pick 6 - Onley

Pick 12 - Emmett or CDT or NHH

Then Kellaway

Well it should work i mean it works for the Arabs as some have 10 or more wives :mask:

Current preferences:-

  • Pick 1 - Dyson Sharp
  • Pick 2/3/4 - Fred Rodriguez

Contingency if Rodriguez is gone especially if North finish higher up the ladder

  • Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves
  • Riley Onley.

And then Kellaway.
