would love to have multiple top picks so we can get Willem Duursma as a A+ winger ( we lack in this ) and Louis Emmett to invest in what is probz the best ruck in a draft in a while

Needs for this draft and next
. winger
. Ruck
. Intercept HB (vlas/ rioli replacement
. Key back if Gibcus is a bust (this year will tell us that)
have you heard of mids mate? Our present mids are shitee

Dyson Sharp played for Centrals senior side - 10 disposals (4k 6hb) 2 I50s 1.2

Louis Kellaway played for Sturt U18 - 22 disposals (15k 7hb) 9 marks 1 tackle 1 clearance 6 I50s 1 R50 1 FA

Sam Cumming played for North Adelaide U18 - 21 disposals (10k 11hb) 2 marks 1 tackle 3 clearances 1 I50 2 R50 5 FF 2 FA 2 goals

Sharp started poorly. Pick 1 rookie draft might be a chance

Doesn't fit our list profile anyways. We're already so plodding and once paced.

We need explosion, speed, break away agility with every midfielder we pick from now on.

Great so now Kellaway is gonna cost pick 1 :(

Pretty clear we won't have 1 & 2 now. Fred & a NHH (who is probably more around the mark for Norf pick) fixes the speed & class. We could go a ruck/fwd too.

People looking at Sharp stats

Looks like he played HF and not midfield kicking 1.2 and only 10 touches
Sad Gordon Ramsay GIF by Hell's Kitchen

Also a reminder he’s one of the very few prospects playing in a senior mens competition. Almost everyone else is playing U/18’s.

There's been lots of talk about how Dyson had a poor opening game of the season here, but I think we can dig a little deeper. He didn't find a lot of the footy, but was played as a high half forward which can become a bit of a graveyard with the ball constantly flying over your head. The touches he did have were mostly clean and constructive, and he had a hand in each of the critical final two scores that got his team up on the day.

When you're the most talented kid playing junior footy you are the game plan, but when you accept the move up to senior footy you have to fit into a structure and you're not likely to be the star. I did feel that he was deferring too much to his teammates at times, hovering outside of contests waiting to receive instead of being proactive, and I'm sure that will change as he gains confidence at the level.

Could this be him trying to develop his outside game, with it being a little bit unnatural to him?

The sense I got was that he was sticking too closely to the role that he'd been given by his coaches instead of playing on instinct. But I'd also like to see him start to get more rotations onball. If you have Dyson Sharp in your team and you aren't using him as a contested ball winning bull then you're probably doing it wrong, no matter what level it is.
